I still think it's a great idea.....TV or not, at the very least we will have a unique set of how-to videos :)

best way to learn about it is to read about it... click on the link in my signature - it's all there from start to where we are now.
justin - i had no delusions, i was always firmly grounded by the fact that none of us had ever attempted anything like this before and most start-up ventures fail within the first year. i'm just feeling like maybe it's time to cut and run. if there's still interest, i don't see why we can't see it to its natural conclusion, whatever that may be.

I'll offer up my Foxbody for what ever you guys need. Maybe a nitrous install? I have to take the heads of and replace them anyway, might as well tape it.

ben? Â*al?
Been just a little busy lately, and as I explained to Justin, I get to bed much too late as things stand these days, so I really haven't had much time to drop by the discussion Board lately. Saturday's are out for me, and pretty much most weeknights are shot, so, if I have a Friday or a Sunday open, that's about it. If all else fails, maybe we could do a phone conference, or if one of you can be the 'go-to' guy, then I'll call that person to go over what's discussed at the meeting you want to have. Oh, and just in case my schedule wasn't enough of a mess these days, my jackass employer decided to change my start time from 8:00 A.M., to 7:00 A.M., so now I have to get up around 4:30 A.M. in order to allow enough time for the morning shower, etc. Oh, and then there's this little thing about gasoline prices, which have seriously hampered my ability to travel much. Funny thing about that, the news media has just started to realize what I'd noticed starting 4 years ago, that escalating gasoline prices are hurting.
Done in bold so it's easier to read

i guess at this point there is no reason to have an in-person meeting, and that would probably be better on everyone's schedule and pocketbook.
we need to have the storyboard filled in - that basically is how we are going to set up the index cards (which show each scene we want in the final product, so the guys editting have an idea what to do with all of the footage we send them). the whole thing is a process which may seem overly organized, but each part is dependent on the other in order to progress. we don't want to go into this willy-nilly (at least i don't) and the more structure we have, the smoother things will happen - IMHO. if you guys want to choose a first project(s) and then fill in the storyboard, that could take the place of an in-person meeting. it could be done on conference call (an option i decided NOT to get on my cell phone, so i cannot initiate it but i would like to participate) or through AIMchat or whatever, but the end result is that at the end of the call or chat we have a completed storyboard.
springtime is here and it's time to get moving on this if we want to have a finished product by fall. you know how summer is and how everyone wants to play outside and couldn't be bothered to work on a car or be involved in a project like this, so keep that in mind as we drag our feet in getting this done. :D
i welcome all input, so those of you that i did not address personally, do not think that you are being left out. if you sincerely want to participate, then you are in.

Well, I at least have that simple project, which is a 'How-To Detail' (read paint and/or touch-up) the engine in one's car. I know that this type of project isn't a 'Barn Burner', but it's simple, it's relatively easy, it's inexpensive, and to a neophyte, it would seem daunting, until that is they see someone else show them how to do it.

i agree.
Well, then at least we have one project, with the possibilty of a few more from what I've read in this thread. Now all we need is $1.00/gal gasoline, some very expensive and sophisticated sound and video equipment, an experienced staff to use it, and we're good to go. Either that, or we work with whatever we can get, and do the best we know we can do. Â*:D

i'm all for $1/gal gas... the rest we can work around.

That ought to be a real challenge. I know I'm committed to shows on June 5th, June 19th and June 26th. Then I have one show at the end of July, one near the middle to end of August, probably two to three in September, and my own Club's show on the 1st Sunday in October. Weeknights are out, between Mom's therapy and my work schedule.
Oh well, never expected this to be easy to accomplish

Hadn't epected to wait that long. Right now, some of July is open, June is a wreck right now, and well, May, it's partially gone already. Like I said, hadn't expected this would be easy.

you'll never have time if you don't make time. i think an hour (or three) on the phone one evening should suffice.
