I started designing my company website last night using Frontpage...which sucks by the way.

Is there any way to insert a picture without is throwing all of the text that's already there out of alignment besides having it on it's own line?

I'm pretty sure that there's a wrap function. I build my website using Frontpage and did it. Come to think of it, I think I used the tool that lets you put the pic wherever you want and it automatically wrapped the words around it. Browse around my site and see if you can find the page. I'm pretty sure it's the purple car story page. I'd put a direct link but I can't access my site from work.

Click on "our Trans Am's", then click the purple pearl car, then in the top frame click story. I think that's the page with the wrapped wording. Then just have a look see at the coding and see if that helps.

That's exactly what I'm looking to do. How the hell do I do that? There's a wrap tool that will work?

I already set up buttons on the left side of the home page going down in a column and I want to add a picture to the right of them to fill in the blank space.

That's probably done easier setting up a table than using wrap. 2 column 1 row, no borders if you don't want it known it's a table without lookin at the source. Put all of your buttons on the first column, and the pic in the second.

Interesting...I'll have to play around with it more later this week.

Do you have any experience with writing code, or are you using Frontpage because of the "drag-and-drop" editing?

Dreamweaver is the better type of program.

Personally I use EditPlus

Drag and Drop....I know nothing about writing code or I'd use another program.

Ahh, ok. Well, make sure you skim over the code that Frontpage generates. HTML is a pretty easy language to learn (it's very basic). Doesn't Dreamweaver have a drag and drop feature too?

I use Allaire Homesite or vi for coding.....

Does Dreamweaver offer any type of freeware? If not I need to find someone with a copy of it...can't afford it right now. All my C5 brake parts are on the way!

Cool...thanks. In the meantime I'm getting some pretty good results with FrontPage now. I tried that table idea and so far it's working. Now I just need to make some money to buy my domain name and some hosting.

Have you been shopping for providers?

What do they give you, and for how much?

Have you heard of/looked into Canaca.com? NJFBOA.org is on Canaca's servers - I'm happy with them.

Check out the website to see what they offer. I don't know much about any of this newfangled computer hosting stuff. A few buddies of mine suggested them and it looks like it would run me about $130 a year for their mid offering and I might be able to use the cheaper one. I have no idea how much space I'm going to need.

When the site is done my girlfriend is gonna let me host is on her TCNJ account so I see how it looks so I'll be sure to let you guys see it then.

99 times out of a hundred, bandwidth is more important
A site I used to run with a friend (just him now) we used 100+GB monthly (but then again we hosted videos and games and ****)

Yeah dude I'm not going to be hosting anything like that. Nothing but a basic webpage with a bunch of pictures and maybe a shopping cart kind of feature for selling merchandise.

Also do you guys know about setting up an e-mail address with the domain name I purchase?

Check out Canaca's Bronze package: 10GB of storage, 200GB of transfer, plus subdomains, email addys, etc. for $95 (two years).

For reference, at the moment we (njfboa) is using about 100 MB (0.1 GB) of storage, and during the month of March we used about 16.2 GB of transfer (bandwidth).

Once you get it all done I forget the name, but the server program will allow you to add POP3 emails. For example if you got RPMcustom.com you could make admin@RPMcustom.com
