wont start or will start and die?
I know on mine if I run it and get it upto running temp and then turn it off and let it sit for anywhere between 10minutes to about an hour it will start up and die. I gotta keep my foot on the gas for abit.

Sounds like the starter is getting heat-soaked. Even if its new it can still happen. I think starter shields for turbo dodges & the likes work even on SBC's. Or you can try a heat shield wrap.

Remote starter solenoid!

That should fix it.

I agree sounds like a heat soak issue. See if you can find a heat shield off of an LS1 or even just wrap the starter in heat header wrap, heat shielding and see if that helps.

Another vote for heat soak. The Chevelle did it when the stock starter was on it, not to mention it would barely turn it over to begin with. New Hi Torque mini starter solved those problems. Dad's GTO does it alot now too for some reason. Try a heat shield like they said before, it usually will do the trick.
