Ha no not THAT, my website.

Here it is at it's temporary location. There are a few more bugs to work out with spacings and such and I want to add navigation buttons to the bottom of each page so you don't have to keep clicking "Back". Also I think I'm going to put my truck up there under the Past Projects section for the repaint, lift kit, external visual upgrades.

So without further adue RPM Resto & Custom (http://www.tcnj.edu/~corcora6)

Let me know what you guys think

I dunno why, but everytime I click on one of the buttons, it freezes Opera completely. I can get to the main page fine...but click "about Us" or whatever, and it freezes.

In IE it works fine. :shrug:

Never heard of Opera. I'm guessing it only works in IE since it was made with FrontPage?

no, I used FrontPage to help me make a page for the honor society I was a member/officer of this year (because I didn't have the time to code it myself) and it worked perfectly fine in Opera.

Oh, and Opera is just one of those alternate browsers, (I think) that came before Firefox...or at least before Firefox was well known. Other than some random problems here and there, it is far superior to IE, as is pretty much anything else, lol.

Looks good, might want to watch the quality of those pics though, the Iroc pic is kinda nasty looking.

Otherwise good :)

Which IROC pic? The one on the Past Projects page or one on the page after you click that one?

The one on the past projects page is pretty choppy looking, the others are better, but still not great. What did you use to resize them?

your logo should always be a button that returns you to the main page.

each page should have a title (not "New Page 2").

adding buttons at the bottom for navigation is fine, and you might want to include a "Back" button on each page that takes you to the previous page. most serious surfers have their own way of navigating, but occasional users should be able to find their way around - keep it extremely simple for them.

all of the pics in current project and past projects should be clickable to show a higher resolution pic. i would stay with .gif files because they load faster (keep in mind people are still using telephone modems) and make them thumbnail size, then use higher resolution .jpg files for detailed pics.

i would watch using someone else's pics (the flamed fendered ford) if they are not a project you completed (misleading to prospective customers).

one way to make an easy job of the spacing is with tables (but i dunno if you can do that with frontpage, and it sounds like it might be outside of your coding ability). if you have a close friend (someone you can trust) that knows their way around HTML, i would have them look at it. i know for a fact that frontpage adds a bunch of useless code, and they might be able to trim it down for you.

good job.

Ha I used Paint to resize the pics....I don't have any good software.

I'll definitely add the navigation buttons. I also want to change that whole New Page 1, 2, 3.... thing. Anyone know how?

I used tables for the picture spacing but for some reason the page with the IROC pics is being thrown off by the text. I also want to try and thumbnail the pics eventually, but wanted to get something done fast for now. Will upgrade it in the upcoming weeks. I have to make a seperate page for each thumbnailed pic right?

Go into Frontpage and open each file, go into the HTML mode (so all you see is code, or where it is split screen). Near the top you'll see something like "<Title="New Page 2"> Or something like that... Change the title to whatever you want.

I'll hook you up with Photoshop, it will save you Â*:)

The New Page thing is the title of the site. Â*If you look in the code for the site, there should be two tags like this "<head> </head>" with a few lines of code in between. Look for the <title> and </title> tags that should be within the <head> tags, and change the text that is in between the <title> tags. Hope that isn't too confusing....

The best thing to do to keep it looking professional is not to make a seperate page for those pics, but have them open in a pop-up window (like cardomain). Search the 'net for the code to do it if Frontpage doesn't have the option.

Also, I wouldn't mind cleaning up your code for you, and offering more advice. I'm by no means an excellent programmer, but I can keep code very clean and neat (I'm a bit OCD when it comes to stuff like that :wink: )

Ok, cool.

Just to give you a visual, this is the code to display the title on www.njfboa.org:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>NJFBOA - NJ F-Body Owners Association</TITLE>
</HEAD>

::rest of the site::

The only red x I got with IE was for the hit counter. All the other ones came up.

Besides formatting issues what do you guys think of the descriptions on the pages and such? Doesn't sound cheesey or anything does it?

That could have something to do with it.....

i think the site is clean. you restore cars, not build websites, so your site should reflect that. i'm not saying you couldn't "wow" people with your website, but the bottom line is if someone is looking for a restoration shop they won't sit through a shockwave presentation. ya know?

remember: keep it simple.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That's why I didn't bother paying someone to do something fancy with Flash and such.

Made some updates today. I have to check it on my computer at work tomorrow because it displays differently than my computer here at home.

I changed the page titles on the tops of the screens and added navigation buttons to all the main pages. I also tried to adjust some of the spacings that seemed off...I'll see how that looks tomorrow.

Still can't get the hit counter to work and it would be a sweet tool to have on there for myself. Anyone know how to write the html code for one and I can just paste it in? All I want is white background with black numbers.

I am going to look into thumbnailing the pics soon. Just have some major projects going on at home here to finish up first.
