well....the 502 was sold...and still was a little out of reach for me....but in place i ordered a 520 lift comp xtreme energy cam kit, XE268H, before...i just needed to replace a lifter but now im grubbin for some more GO power..... :headbang:

congrats on teh purchase matt. that shoudl wake the big block up a little. now all you need is a mild TC and you will really be flyin.

Rather mild cam but good choice seeing as you've got no overdrive and.. well... your driving isn't exactly "environmentally friendly."
You're really going to need to crank up the fuel pressure. I'd guess at least 20psi but I'd go more like 25. Those GM injectors can handle 50psi so I think 25 is a good number to shoot for.

A 3800 stall would kill the truck....all it's power is low end torque, not nearly as much up top.

Stock Cam:

Duration @ .050'' Lift: 194° Intake / 195.5° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.7 (stock) Rockers: .398'' Intake / .430'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 115°


New Cam:
Operating Range: 1600-5800 RPM
Duration Advertised: 268° Intake / 280° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 224° Intake / 230° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.7 (stock) Rockers: .515'' Intake / .520'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°

I'd say the truck will start running a bit deeper into the 13's now :)
