'86 was the first year of the 1-piece rear main seal, so as long as your car still has the original motor, it's 1-piece.

first year... then in 87 they upgraded the car blocks to roller ready with the spider and lifter retainers.

If you do it yourself it will cost you next to nothing. Pull the trans and torque converter and have at it.

You can probably just slide the trans back in the tunnel a little if you have a steady jack.

im pretty sure i can do it but my jack is **** and my driveway doesn't have on level spot....i dumped some "stop leak" crap in there but who knows how long that will hold up. Any one know how much it would cost to get done at a shop????? Its def. the original motor, im over 133K right now i just need it to last atleast 6 months/1yr...money is tight
