got my 1st ticket in 7 years. it was for no front plate, which I have been pulled over for at least 10 times. the cop was cool and didn't bust me for no inspection(i have a NY inspection sticker good 'till June, but I live in NJ). Meh, I got away with it for long enough, time to get the bracket and put it on and go buy a sticker.
but it does look so much better with out one.

Oh, did you guy buy the car in NY?
Anyway, no plate is no big deal. Its not like getting nailed for 80 in a school zone.

yeah, got it in NY. and yeah, getting hit for $50 is better that $$$ and points.
I got pulled over for doing 50 in a 35. Took my Reg/Ins cards, got in his car, walked to the back of my car, kicked the bumper twice and says "I see your paying your own insurance and have a clean record, I wrote you up for a dirty license plate"
(I washed it two days prior  )

a guy i used to autocross with had a bmw that was all custom. he used to get away with no front plate all teh time. he put the plate onto the metal bracket, then bent teh living **** out of it. when he got pulled over he woudl simply pick it up from teh passenger floor and tell teh cop someone backed into him at work and he had been too busy to get it fixed.
haven't talked to him in a few years, but it seemed to work pretty well.

Yeah, but having no plate on the front makes you stick out in NJ. It's just asking to get pulled over and they often find other reasons to ticket you. Put the plate on and then you don't have to worry about it.
