KOKOMO, Ind. - Workers at DaimlerChrysler's Indiana Transmission Plant I and Plant II better allow more time to walk in from the parking lot if they drive Fords or General Motors vehicles.

A new policy that takes effect Monday designates about 80 percent of employee parking spaces for Chrysler vehicles only and forces workers to park much further away if they drive a car or truck made by a competing manufacturer.

I'd much rather walk further than drive a chrysler product. I don't consider my jeep a chrysler product because the 4.0 motor is awesome 8)

I think a lot of car companies do that. I've heard of GM plants doing it too, but dont remember which ones. Oh... and don't diss mopars man..

i think it makes perfect sense. why not promote support in your own product? especially since people who work for a chrysler plant can get new chrysler cars at a HUGE discount anyway, they'd be stupid not to have one, even as a daily driver if nothing else.

Mopar is not all bad. That new Charger coming out is pretty cool looking and I would trade my Ranger in for a Dodge Ram Rumble Bee any day.

I had a neighbor who worked for the GM plant that used to be across town, and almost every time he would drive his wife's old Civic to work it would get keyed in the parking lot.

For FSAE I was at the Chrysler and GM headquarters. Neither of them (last year) had priority parking. 90% of the vehicles in the lots were brand loyal but who cares if they aren't. I think it's stupid what Chrysler is doing but if that's how desperate they are to get sales then so be it.
