i don't know anyone who has used that particular unit. but whipple does have a good reputation.

Thats the first and only TBI Supercharger I've seen, and maybe someone had some experience putzing with it. I might save some pennies for it after my complete exhaust work!
you can use a centrifugal style blower on a tbi unit if you use the carburetor "hat" thing that surrounds the tbi/carb unit
This one looks hella cleaner tho :)

and is hella more expensive

And is hella more efficient too :P
Whipples are great. I know a guy with an early 90's 4 door Lumina with a stock L67. He replaced the M90 with a Whipple (3300 i think) and runs 12's with sticky tires and free mods.

I was always told centrifugal SC's were more efficient then screw type

Whipples are a different design than the traditional roots style screw blowers. They are infact the most efficient, however I think centrifigul still has an advantage when it comes to how much heat build up you experience with both.

Yea, they claim:
• Most efficient supercharger on the market
• Coolest air charge in the industry
I'm sure they have some sort of technical data to back that up....

thats what i saw on their site which is the reason i posted what i did...with a halfway decent IC intake charges for CF SC's around ~20* above ambient...unless they are saying coolest charge for screw style...blah blah blah?

Yea, I would guess that by "the industry" they mean screw types. But still, I've seen lots of research as it applies to the replacement of the M90, and it blows the Eatons out of the water.
Matt was looking at getting one of these for the 454 a while back....

2 kinds of superchargers, those that are the real deal and those that don't. The real deal are positive displacement like the eaton, roots, whipple, etc. Those can produce boost at any RPM. The hair dryers can't produce boost at low engine speeds because they're blowing air, not the same as compressing. They DO compress the air because of the volume of air that they move at higher RPM. The engine can't accept all the air being flowed by the blower and that builds boost :) .
"Unique Internal Bypass Valve. The key feature of every Magna Charger system is the unique internal bypass valve. This virtually eliminates the parasitic pumping loss of the supercharger under part throttle and cruise conditions. For example, an Eaton M90 requires less than 1/3hp at 60 mph cruise."
That is why I like the positive displacement blowers like Eaton and Whipple. They are truely more efficient in all conditions than even your centerfugal blowers. I like the hair dryers on the street with v8's because most v8's don't need any more low RPM horsepower... they've got too much as it is so the centerfugal is perfect.
I'd consider a turbo over either of these but if the blower's cheap, that would be reason enough for me to use one :) . But $3000+ isn't cheap.
