View Full Version : Repair shops suck...here's why...

Well I took my T/A in for a simple wheel alignment and get a call about an hour later to "Come to the shop". Right away you know that isn't a good sign, it gets even worse when you pull up and 20 people are looking at the car, scattering as they recognize you. Well apparently the car went on to the rack just fine but coming off it caught the drivers side exhaust, ripped the Y-pipe off, scraped up the header and yanked the motor out of my driver side cutout. About 45 minutes of work and it was all re-assembled (the scraped up header kinda pisses me off) except for the cut-out, which is shot and flopping around like a wet noodle. So now I have to go dig through my pile of parts at home and try to find the block off so I can drive it around. Good news is they flitted the bill for an alignment and 4 wheel balance and are going to replace the cut-out as they should. I am just going to write it up as ***** happens (to me all the time!) and move on. Also found that my front left heat shield is missing, which turned my O2 sensor harness into a work of modern art (looks like a Dali painting, melted with all the colors running together!) so I have to fix that. Clock is ticking, I leave for Ocean City Thursday.

Rant over.

well if they gave you the alignement for free and are going to pay for a new cutout & such its not horrible...im sure it couldve turned out much much worse.

Are the headers coated? If so, then I would raise a stink about the damaged coating, if not, then you got a free alignment for the price of a little agrivation.

They WERE coated, I'm going to talk to the guy about it. They are a $1000 set of headers but we'll see.
