A 26x9.5x15 would fit fine on a 15x8 wheel, and would be enough tire to go as fast as you want to go.

I run a 27x10.5 Hoosier QTP on a 15x8 rim with 5.5" backspacing. Doesn't rub anything and doesn't stick out past the fender. Most 10" wide rims I see on thirdgens look silly cause they stick out too far. My 15x3.5s didnt need any spacers either. Could most liikely fit an 11.5" wide tire with the same results.

I don't run tubes and they don't leak out air or spin on the rim. I don't know if they changed them over the years but my wheel studs were 12mm x 1.5. I swapped them out for 3" long ones just to be safe.

to 84HOtransam, how fast is your car, what gears are in the rear, because Slow-Z has the right set up, but i would use a 10" rim with 5.5"bs.they tuck even with the fender lip.

i would use a 15 x 10 -5.5bs, a 28 x 10.5 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro #6546, they worked great on my best friends 82' T/A, 305, with a 150 shot of nitrous, 11.78 with th350, 3500 stall, stock rear w/4.10's,at 3320lbs. he drove the car on the street, hope this helps you.

I doubt you'll be able to run a 28" tall tire without beating the crap outta your wheel wells. I had 28x10.5" ET Drags and they rubbed like a somamabitch on the front portion of the wheelwell (behind the door).

Contemporary Corvette in Bristol, PA - they sell on Ebay as fparts, but you can also call them and see what they have in stock. I know someone who bought an LS1/T56 from a '99 SS with 11k miles for only $4500. Came with ECM, full engine harness, and the pedal setup too.
