Went to Mahwah Municipal Court today....i got a speeding ticket in March (85 in a 55). 30 over the limit is a 5-point ticket, and over $200 in fines i believe. the lawyer I got knew the prosecutor, so he talked to him and got it reduced.....
.......to 0 points :D $450 fine, though. I'd rather pay the fine anyway, than have to deal with the ******** at the insurance company, who look for any excuse to rob me of more money.

Yea yea, thats like when I got 88 in a 50, careless driving, and failure to keep right on a highway... 5+2+2 = 9 points... walked away with 2 points (for going 10 over ;))

More proof that all they care about is money...but I agree, I'd rather pay $450 now then $3000 over the next 3 years.

only problem is you will probably get screwed with your insurance as well. A few months ago my mom was 3 minutes over on making a left in haledon (can't make a left between like 4-7) it was 4:03 and a cop was sitting down the road  anyway, she went to court and got no points but had to pay extra. When we switched to geico insurance, her ticket appeared which raised the insurance. So my parents paid for no points so it doesn't effect insurance and we still got screwed. My damn no front plate ticket also effected insurance, I thought only moving violations effect it
