THE #99 DRIVEN BY RANDY YAPLE AND CARRYING THE CLUB ON THE DOOR WINS THE ROOKIE CHAMPIONSHIP AT NEW EGYPT!!!!! (and we got into a fight)
Part 1: The Championship
randy yaple in the #99 finished second in the rookie race tonight giving him enough points to win the rookie points championship. going into teh evening he was 15points out in 5th place.
he finished 2 and 3 spots ahead of his nearest point rivals in the double points event to claim teh title by 9points.
he had a few problems in the consi. got into the throttle a bit early coming out of turn two and hit the wall with teh right rear. he retired shortly after that saying that the car wouldn't track straight.

Part 2: The Fight
teh 17b was a whole different brand of excitement tonight. ej did ok in tiem trials and started second in his consi. he finished in a transfer spot and made it into the feature. this is where it gets interesting.
there is a jackass racing at new egypt named kenny hammond(if any of you know him tell him to do society a favor and remove himself from teh gene pool). he is the ass clown that flipped ej the first week of teh season.
tongiht was normal for hammond, he ran into several cars, including ej again, while trying to make up for his poor starting spot which he earned by sucking but having great equipment.
in contact with another driver hammond managed to collect up ej adn put down ej's left front tire. ej went into the pits and changed teh tire. as he was headed back towards teh track hammond came off teh speedway to get somethign taken care of on his care.
ej then lowered his IQ to the same level as hammonds and RAMMED INTO HIM!!! nose to nose contact in the pit area. as you can all guess the fight started from there.
i tried to get in teh middle and stop ****, bad plan. basically i ended up on the ground with hammond under me. couldn't get an arm free to throw a punch on him and i wasn't letting go cause he is a strong m'fer.
i got pulled off of hammond by a plumstead cop and then things degraded into a yelling match between hammonds guys and everyone that was with ej.
i know ej was totally in the wrong, but you gotta have your friends back.

haha, my fighting days are long behind me. although i must admit it was rather gratifying grinding that ass pipes head in the dirt.

looks like we will find out tomorrow what ej's punishment will be. from what i heard around the pits last night, when there is a fight or anything they suspend people for 3 or 4 weeks.
a month should be plenty of time for things to cool down. hopefully they will take hammonds previous actions into account before they decide ej's punishment.

Well, there is plenty of discussion about the fight on the dirt track boards, and EJ started another thread to apologize to everyone for his actions. Hopefully the track won't come down on him too hard.....

nice to see he is standing up and admitting what he did was wrong. i don't know how much it will help in the eyes of teh track, but i am sure some of teh other competitors will respect him for it.

EJ is getting a lot of positive feedback on his apology. there was also a post about us getting involed to try to stop the fight not start a brawl. hopefully the track will understand that as well when they talk to ej tomorrow.

Yea, I love how at least three other people specifically mentioned that Hammond is a ass when he "drives" on the track.

not yet. randy thinks they may string it out until wednesday.
i would think that is a sign that they are waiting to see if everything will blow over before making a decision.

Wow, but congrats to Randy! That's an awesome achievement for not having the best parts.
