I forget all the details but it's really the parent's job to teach their kids. Â*If the car was sitting there with the trunk wide open and the kids climbed in and closed it then I would put some blame on the car owner as well. Â*But to try and sue the police or Toyota is ridiculous. Â*Nobody wants to take responsibility any more and they all think they can get a buck by suing someone else.

I think its asinine that they would try to blame the police. Its your responsibility to watch your children! at all times! I know thats hard to do but I'm sorry its gotta be done! I hated constantly having someone watching over me as a child but when I grew up I realized how important it was. 3 kids with 3 different parents NONE of which were around to watch them? In Camden nonetheless?

some details:
3 kids
5 years old
6 years old
11 but mental capacity of a 5 year old

abandoned car owned by the 11 year olds grandmother non running with no trunk release. The hydraulic plunger that keeps the trunk from closing was not working, so the lid was able to swing close and lock as soon as the boys stopped propping it up. And at least one of the boys had played with the car previously which had been sitting for 3+/- weeks.

Kids were alive for ~13hrs in trunk

Police called in after 3hrs of parental searching

I think its a combination of everyones and no ones fault, except toyota. To me, its just a tragedy where the blame shouldnt be passed around, but everyone should admit that it was partially their fault. Sure, somebodys parents should have been watching the kids. I know for sure I was not watched 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, even when I was 5 or 6 years old. Somebody should have told the kids to stay away from the car, or grandma shouldn't have had it where the kids could get access to it. How often do kids listen anyhow, and how was she to forsee something like this? Then there's the police, who searched the whole car but didn't search the trunk. I personally think that was a really dumb move, but I also wouldnt pass the entire blame onto the cops.
Why they would blame toyota, I have no idea, its an old abandoned car, its not like it was new and this was a recall issue. Parts stop working after they stop being cared for. I don't see them getting anywhere with toyota, but just going after them so they can get a bunch of money.

I agree on you on alot of points 79CD...the cops didnt search the car though...they peaked through the windows but didnt search it because of a miscommunication between them & the parents...supposidly the parents had told them they already checked the car & they werent in there but in actuality they didnt really check it like they should with keys & all. People can blame the cops all they want but the fact is they are human too...whats next? blame the search dogs because they didnt pick up their scent? they arent human maybe thats the next step? lol personally I dont think you can blame the cops...3 hrs went by, they were told the car was already checked...at that point the cops start thinking the worst in that someone somehow snatched all three kids or they left the area on their own. I definitly agree with you on the toyota thing in that they are probably the largest funded organization in the whole scenerio so lets sue them lol that is whats wrong with society though. Did anyone see the video of the father opening the trunk for the first time...curious that after 3 days of searching they happened to catch the father opening the trunk and being the first to see the kids...

it's the parents' fault for not watching their kids. the police did their job as best they could, and it's not Toyota's fault for the grandmother neglecting her vehicle. i hope the judge throws the case out.

i think the police did in fact not conduct a professional and thorough search but they shouldnt have to shoulder any blame for the kids' deaths. those parents are ghetto retards, that unfortunately like so many other parents in the nasty ass city of camden, dont give a **** about what their kids are doing. i know damn well that if my kids went missing while in the care of someone else i would grill the **** out of that person to get every detail i could and i would check every single place a small child could hide within a mile radius. you better ****ing believe i wouldve checked the car that was in the yard. those parents are stupid ********s that are responsible for the deaths of those boys. they shouldve taught the kids not to play in god damned abandoned vehicles, they shouldve locked the car, they shouldve checked the car themselves immediately since they knew that the boys had played in there previously as well. maybe if they had some common sense they couldve realized that since the boys dissappeared within about a 5 minute span from when the one parent went in the house to check on dinner they could not have gotten far at all. they wouldve been right by the house somewhere or kidnapped given the time frame and how young they were. stupid people set themselves up for tragedy.

The parents need to keep watch on their kids. Even if the police didnt check the cars trunk, who is to say that they would have found them in time. And it's not toyotas fault that three children suffocated in it. what do the parents want? all new toyotas to support playtim ein the trunk with airholes? come on. There is only so much that police can do, and what are the odds they would be where they didn't look.

But if you have 3 boys that young, especially when one of them has mental problems, you have GOT to keep an eye on them if you are the parent.

the parents should have been watching the kids... the owner shouldnt have had the trunk open for them to climb into, and the cops should have check the entire car so i feel that no one is to blame in full but everyone except Toyota is at fault
