I've been in New Jersey car clubs that met at big car shows as far away as Ocean City, Maryland and even got a participation award.

Many people do travel out of state to other events. However, this monthly meet rotates between South, Central, and North Jersey, and September is North's month, hence the comment.

the idea is to have a meet specifically for us in north jersey.

what would be the most center spot in north jersey so everyone roughly has to drive the same distance?? Im in like north/central (1 min from the 78-24 merge) so i don't really give a ****.
I just need to come to a meet on a day im not working because i work ALL THE TIME and my hours are 3p-11p.
I think colorado cafe has car shows on their front lawn and parking lot on thursdays....but i haven't been there in a year with my car.
Rockaway mall, i live really close to it

yo, what about meeting at a nice park and then all taking a ride to a restaurant or BAR. I think that would be pretty cool. A meet then drive, with all our f bodies lined up would be pretty fun. Not sure where we can meet, maybe Verona park or if you guys know of any nice parks with big parking lots. I'm in morris county, west side, so not sure if people want to come this way, but I know some places we can meet here.

Tim - I think Wayne looks like a central spot. Of course those far out west will disagree, but its centralized for the majority of North Jersey people.
I personally liked Bennegins, but if you get a place somewhere on the Rt 46 corridor, it will be a lot easier to get to for those coming from further distances since Rt 80 is a stone's throw away.
Maybe TGI Friday's at Willowbrook mall? There's an Applebee's on Rt 46 west in Totowa?(right next to wayne). There are more restaurants on rt 46 & even 23 North but I'm thinking about the size of the parking lots. Friday's & Applebee's have the biggest lots, + they have the most amount of traffic passing buy.
Any other suggestions?

The only bad thing about having a meet at Willowbrook is - besides TGI Friday's, no other eating establishments have window view of the parking lot. Personally, I'd like to be able to keep an eye on the cars while we're inside, especially since their parking lot isn't the safest.
Wayne is a good location, how about a restaurant with it's own parking lot, like Casey OToole's on Hamburg Tpk, or somewhere on Rt. 46? Any other thoughts?

there's also Jose Tejas in Fairfield, which has a HUGE parking lot.
houlihan's is OK, doesn't have a great view of the parking lot though.

I am seriously down for some Mexican food. Swear to god!
Pat, maybe you should go over their and get a general idea on the prices.
I'd say the Macaroni Grill or Lone Star Steakhouse in Netcong. Very good food :-D Plus, its right in the center of the entire north :-D

Casey's would be cool. The fact that they have their own lot is a plus, yet they don't really have windows in the place  Not a fan of Willowbrook because of all the thefts.

Would these places be near Rt. 46? That would make finding them pretty easy. I would be cool with either of these.

i can check into Jose Tejas...the food is great, Tex-Mex stuff. It's not all spicy, they have a good mix of items on the menu. I may be able to get us a group discount or something, I used to work there a couple years ago.
Yea Tim, its off both Rt 46 AND Rt 206 AND Rt 80

Tim, The spot i suggested is a park so there isn't any body really that can give us crap for being there. I do know that if theres a **** load of people there after 11pm then you get **** from cops but i don't think anyone would be there that late.

most parks require permits for large gatherings and definately require them if you plan to BBQ.

Jose Tejas has awesome food!!! :D .. Then there's the new TGIF in Ledgewood/Roxbury that has a huge parking lot which is completely viewable from inside the restuarant.. [ Also has a White Castle next to it.. should you crave  ]
What else.. umm.. There's a very well located Applebees on Rt 46 East in Parsippany.. Again huge parking lot that's visible from within.. Plus, it's a very safe area to park :) Also a Chilis on the other side..
Also, there's On The Border [Mexican - best salsa/chips ever!!... :P ] on Rt 46 in Totowa.. with ample sand safe parking...
Don Pepe in Fairfield is a slightly upscale and very nice Portuguese restuarant...
Oh there's also a FuddRuckers [sp? ] on Rt 46E in Parsippany.... great food, enough parking and very safe [ Police station almost next door :D  ]

On the Border is like one step up from Taco Bell. Jose Tejas' food is much better.

i dunno about needing a permit to BBQ in a park, the east coast AR meet was at a state park in PA, they had little grills everywhere...we used one and even had a decent sized fire going in it and didnt get hassled at all...park rangers drove by many times and didnt even stop and say anything.
they also didnt notice the black strips all over the parking lot from Alex/a couple other guys

Yea, if they have grills provided, then all you need to bring is the charcoal :)
