On the way back from Island today I met up with an older m3, like 93-95. I was in the right lane, he was in the middle and my lane ended about an 1/8 mile after the light. He deep staged me and jumped the light but did NOT get much on the 300 before it just pulled 2nd gear and left him a cars length behind me at only 60mph. I'm proud.
The BMW driver was suprisingly cool. He rolled down his window, looked at me and I rolled down mine. He then shouted that my car's got some great straight line pull! I thought that was mature of him so I gave him a thumbs up and told him that was about all it's got :) . He laughed and let me merge ahead of him where 206 necks down into 1 lane in Hillsborough. I was stunned at how cool the guy was. So much so that I won't be telling that BMW porcupine joke anymore (What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW? - The pricks are on the outside).
Also, there was a Red SHO that thought he was bad-ass weaving in and out of traffic.... so I scared him when he was passing me on the right by speeding up and there was a slow trailor in the right. I let him pass because I didn't want to see ANOTHER accident. Which brings me to the accident that I was about a minute behind. It was on us-46 going to Island from the 31 intersection. It was BAD. The guy didn't loose any lims but he was bloody from neck to knee. Blood everywhere but he was 'ok' in that he was alert and not screaming in pain. I asked if they needed anything and they said no, that 911 was called and a volenteer EMS just happened to be driving the other way and stopped to give some more help. A few hours later on the way home the whole area was coned off and cops were looking at the accident as a crime scene (parts still everywhere in the road). Shortly after that Matt's brother Eric lost his Michigan hat out the window and I almost ran over it (I should have). Matt then does a huge crazy 180 smoking the tires and roaring down the road :) . It was brilliant.
All in all, a great day!
