This isn't against the idea but did anyone notice that the government signed for over $60,000,000,000 for relief? All that money is going to be coming out of our pockets, the tax payers pockets so even if nobody does anything to help still every tax payer is helping :) .
BTW, where is the money going? What organization.

I think it is a great idea, but isn't it kinda odd to have a car show on a Friday?

i don't support the red cross. only pennies per dollar actually make it to the intended charity and most of the $60billion the government just signed over is going to them anyway.

Actually the Red Cross gets none of that $60billion. Federal doesn't pay to charities, Red Cross is run stricktly through private funding. In this case they might share resources (money) but it's not normal and I would trust the Red Cross over most every other organization out there. The smaller the better. If I could, I'd give cash directly to people going down there to help and tell them directly how I want the money spent... even if they don't listen to me at least I got to say how I wanted it spent instead of playing Monopoly and having the "free parking" loot go to some lucky roller.

food and clothing is a good way to tell them how you want it spent. it's not like there isn't a need for it. some people lost everything.
there was a local organization that started filling a 20' walk-in. they got so much response that they went and got a 53' trailer. we dragged three boxes of can goods, boxed items and jars plus two green bags of clothes. if everyone in our neighborhood did the same, they would need more trucks.
