my facility is hiring and all we can find are retards that are not going to ever work here. heres the vital info:
what: SemMaterials, the asphalt division of SemGroup, one of the largest and fastest growing privately held companies in the country. My facility actually makes the asphalt that gets laid down on the roads by the road crews. we receive the crude asphalt by ship and make finished product to sell to them by loading it onto trucks through automated blending systems.
where: gloucester city, nj, camden county, right on the delaware across from philadelphia
who: you have to have a high school diploma and be mechanically inclined or come from a similiar job. no, you wont get hired if you are currently working at best buy. college and or former military preferred but not required. almost everyone here is prior military actually, im the token marine, theres two navy, one coast guard, one airforce and two army.
the important stuff: starting pay is no less than 15.00/hr and more if experienced. you get a raise every year if you rate one. ive been with the company for almost 4 years and im up to almost 20.00 an hour because im one of the best guys here. benefits are top notch, vacation, sick days all that jazz included. non union. tuition reimbursement

we are a small team of about 10 operators and if there is one non performer then the other have to pick up the slack so if you are lazy dont bother me, if you are a fat **** then stay away cuz in my experience fat ****s arent worth a **** and they get fired quickly. you need to be trustworthy, self motivated, non retarded and willing to take one for the team again and again. what i mean by that is the fact that there is A LOT of overtime available (one year i doubled my salary), on average you can get 10hrs a week ot. and like i said we are a small team so when someone takes vacation/quits/gets fired someone has to step up and cover the shift. we are open 24/7 for about 9 months out of the year and 12/5 for the other three. there are day evening and night shifts available. the average shift length is 12 hours with alternating 4 days on then 3 off then 3 on, 4 off.

all in all if you are good to go and need a job i can get you an interview any time and put a good word in for you, the rest is up to you. this job is ****ing easy and there are many intangable benefits that you wont see at any other job. if you have any questions post em up and ill answer em. if youre interested email me at pompador@comcast.net

oh as far as commutes go, the facility is easily accessable from rt 42, rt 55, 295, rt 130, 676, 76, rt 168, rt 30, rt 38, rt 70. traffic really isnt a concern since day shifts start at 10am and end at 10pm, afternoon shift comes in at 4pm and night shifts do 10pm to 10am. so i never really see traffic which is cool.

the main aspects of the job, and the bare minimum that you be able to do competently is: create asphalt in finished form. this requires that you add rubber and other products to a mix tank of asphalt and any other production procedures that go with it. load customer trucks. this requires you to select the desired product and, through the use of an electronic blending system, load the product onto the tanker truck then complete all necessary paperwork. complete tank transfers. this requires you be able to transfer different product from one tank to another without incident (ie. spilling **** on the ground or causing an accident).

those are the main requirements, then depending on how long you want to work here and how much you want to get in raises every year you have to be able to take it upon yourself to fix things that break (pumps, mixers, etc. there are a lot of mechanical and electrical pieces of equipment on site so that is why you need to have a mechanical background), keep the plant clean and safe, implement ideas to make our jobs easier, complete projects etc. you are basically on your own with this job and there are many different challenges you get to face each day (****s always breaking!) you will always be using your brain and you will be doing new and different things most of the time besides the stuff i listed above. no one will be watching over your shoulder and telling you what to do so you have to be self motivated. this is one of the reason why a lot of people quit or get fired from this place because they come from a job where all they had to do was push a button, or clean something, or drive a forklift (which we do along with tractors and bobcats), or fix one piece of equipment etc. when they get here they cant handle not having structure and being told what to do so they usually dont do much of anything and get canned after awhile. if you like doing your own thing to stay busy and dont like being micromanaged then this is a good job for you.
this job is easier than i think im making it out to be, seriously easy money as long as you give it your all while your on the clock and help out your coworkers. lots of benefits you wont see at other jobs like being able to go to the dmv during the day on the clock. not having to take off for a doctors appointment, you just go and then come into work. ability to work extended hours to get some ot money if you want. pick your shift most of the time. no worries if you are late every now and then. our two bosses are awesome and we hang out with one of em all the time. you can borrow the company truck on the weekend if you need to etc. stuff like that.

Its too far, sorry. However i got a question for you, you dont have to answer it but ill give it a shot anyways. Why do you say that you prefer ex-military? i mean i would understand if it was something to do with security or anything weapon related involved, but it has nothing to do with both. Are you trying to imply that physically/mentally their better then most people? and can do something regular person can't? If so ill just respectfully disagree and be on my way.

BTW im not trying to disrespect any military guys that can be on here, but i was just wondering. I've lived with ex-military dudes and worked with others so i dont have any disrespect. Even my dad was in military so no disrespect here.

yes, people with military experience are, generally, better disciplined and more willing to do whatever it takes and for less money. by no means am i saying that people without military background are slackers, thats far from true. but if you were to line up a former marine and a civilian, with the same qualifications and abilities i would take the marine (or any service member for that) over the civilian every time. why? because that person has already proven themselves to be dedicated, hard working, team oriented, able to follow orders etc. now i know that there are plenty of former military that get out as **** bags, thats true but hiring someone is a crap shoot and you are pretty much guessing since most people put up fronts when interviewing. so, you have to go off of what you can establish to be reasonably true, which is what i listed about former military above, since you have no way of ascertaining that about the civilian. anyways, this job is still open, we are two people short and its a great oportunity.

Hmmm, I'm a former USAF AGE mechanic, so I guess I'd stand a chance, eh? :)

Sounds like an excellent op. for someone, but since I have 17+ years at my NJ Transit job, I really couldn't handle going somewhere that I would actually have to work for a living!
