View Full Version : fuel pump/regulator ?

my comp 110 pump isnt putting out hte right pressure for my nitrous setup. when i turn on the nitrous system arm the pressure goes to 7psi and then bobs around 3-4 psi. i have no regulator on it nor a return line for one. i have the high pressure side/return line for my efi. if i buy a return regulator would this stop my "bobbing pressure" issue?? also would i be able to tap into a high pressure return line with this low pressure one and would it be ok?

the regulator would be on the line fedding the nitrous fuel solenoids. if you read more carefully there are 2 seperate lines as stated, my motor has a high pressure system and the nitrous plate has a low pressure setup.

i put a whole other fuel system in my car for the nitrous setup, one gallon fuel cell under the hood to its own mallory 140 pump then up to a aeromotive regulator, then to the selonoids.(idont trust the holley regs. when 1/2 a pound of fuel matters so much.) this way i can put good gas to in the 1 gall cell when i spray it and keep pump gas in my tank.(could last year at least). i also wired up the whole arming system to the pump, so i dont have to worry about not turning the pump on, if the system is on so is the pump. your running both the motor and nitrous off of the same pump right? if so the pump may not be enough

yeah tha tsounds good i think i may do that. how much shot are you running on your car? and also howl ong does that 1 gallon of fuel last you???

no offense jim.... you must be blind or cant read. i stated its a CARB plate/system and its on a EFI motor. the system is setup for a low pressure fuel system not a high pressure, let me note again theyre on 2 seperate fuel systems with 2 seperate pumps.

sorry, dude, it's old age. Â*once i see efi i lose my mind.

i would put a regulator on the n2o setup. it will solve your pressure fluctuation, and should keep the system at 7 lbs.

having a low pressure return plumbed into the high pressure return would be ok as long as there is a stop valve located in the low pressure line. you know, the kind of valve that lets it flow out but not back up the line.

i dont even know how much a gallon lasts, last time at the track i made 2 nitrous passes and didnt even phase the gallon. Â*i will fill it up to the top and then drain it when i am done. i probably have 10-15 passes on the motor this year spraying it and maybe have used a full gallon. it really doesnt use that much. i am spraying 200. also i have 2 fuel pressure safety switchs wired in after the nitrous regulator, and the motor regulator, so if i run out of gas on either system the nitrous shuts off. saved my motor last year. i'll try to get some pics up
