I have no clue about LS1's yet, so if anyone can fill me in that'll be great. I get a really loud squeaky belt on startup everytime it rains or if theres dew outside. It is REALLY getting on my nerves. And when I do start it up, it slowly fades after 10 minutes of driving.

Well, there is only one belt, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's that one that's squeking :P

I'd say start by replacing the belts...then tensioners then onto accessories...its one of the three thats f'd up...start with the cheapest first.

By the time i get there, the squeaking will be gone....

But it is REALLY annoying having to listen to it, it even overpowers my music!

not shure bought the ls1's but take one belt off at a time and start it up for a sec and see when it goes away, that will show you which belt it is.

a/c to crank...and then the accessory...too bad you need to take off the accessory belt to get to the small/thin a/c belt :(

Squeeky belts always piss me off. My dads car will do it for a few mins then goes away. Like everything else on that damn car the dude who built it half assed it and we get to go back and fix it. The funny part is this guy calls himself a car builder, my Golden Retriever could put down better welds than him! Try tightening up the tensioner a little to see if that helps.

you cant tighten the tensioner on an ls1...it self adjusts...though the stock tensioner tends to go bad...I say start with the belts considering for both thats maybe $30...then the tensioner near the egr for the main serp. belt.

Ahh...well then just cut off the small A/C belt...it's not needed :)
