My battery died about a week ago, due to a short that I am aware of in my drivers side door. Â*Well I jumped the dead battery off a battery charger we have; just to get the car running and last alittle bit longer, but it always died completely withing a very short period of time. Â*I took the battery to Sears, and they tested it and it was completely dead, so we got a new one for free.

Now I just noticed that whenever we attach the new battery my electric water pump turns on & stays on. Â*I drove the car around with the new battery and my volts were pretty good. Â*I parked the car and went inside for a few hours, and I came back and my new battery was very weak. Â*

Could it have been re-set or something from the first battery dying? Â*Last night I left my car again because the battery was drained, but I couldnt hear the pump (maybe a good thing?) Â*And my dad disconected the new battery and it stopped.

Any ideas? Or should I just take it back to TTP?

My dad said it looks like the water pump is wired to the hot side of the battery and no to any ignition parts? Â*Im not 100% sure because this didnt start happening untill I got my car back from the transmission shop.

you only had your car for 15 minutes until it went to hte transmission shop

like i said on aim, its probably hot wired to something...or shorting out somehwere. i dont know how those things work though

if it is hot wired to teh battery it prolly has a ground side switch taht is hung open somewhere. chase teh ground wire and see where it lands.

Got it fixed, the Relay for the Water pump poped, and the battery terminals were old & arching.

I had a low Idle on the way home, but I turned off my radio and it went back to normal. Â*I think the pulleys had something to do with that.

Thanks to NLinnear (Mike @ TTP)
