according to the guys on the small block posse boards there were no actual impounds. it was apparently a bunch of ricers that got out of line and got busted.
not sure how accurate that is, but those guys are usually right on top of this kind of thing.

imagine how good the guys with the towing contract feel. $60-75 for the tow, $30-50 per day storage, $25-40 release fee when they com to claim their cars.
someone just made their fortune. lol

I always hear bad things about Ave. P, nothing ever good comes out of their. One of my co-workers boyfriends got some nasty bruises from the cops down their.

that just goes to prove that street racing is bad from all angles... you might skate along, unnoticed, for quite a while, but how long can you escape the inevitable? if someone doesn't die you get hit with a street racing ticket, car impounded and your insurance will skyrocket. typically this happens to younger guys who can't afford their insurance on a regular basis without adding in the extra expense that a street racing ticket will bring.
it's fun, exciting and gets the adrenaline pumping. last time i checked i had the same reaction to lining up at the drag strip. and i didn't hurt/kill anyone or pay anything more than the $13 admission...

a few years ago my ex and his sisters boyfriend went down to ave p to 'watch.' They say they weren't gonna race, and he drag races so he was probably right. There happened ot be a bust going down that night too, they got chased by cops all thru Newark, finally pulled him over, one of the guys got a gun pointed at him, the other got the cuffs and one got a little roughed up by one of the cops.
Then he pulled out a family member PBA card from the chief of newark police and got let go with a smile and a wave.

Wow, where the hell do you go to race for $13, I just payed $30 and only got in 2 runs! Â*And waited about 3 hours between each one, not counting the time I spent waiting to get in ****ing line!
Right now, E-town for me blows Island out of the water.

Alex,
I wasnt there, but from what I heard today was the most insane day Island had all year. Something to the tune of 246 cars, a few oil downs and a sled in the net. They stayed open an extra hour afterwards and opened early too. if you figure it all out w/o oil downs, that many cars can barely go down the track 3 times, no matter where you are.
i'm also not trying to make excuses really, obviously im biased towards my own track, but i also see it from the racers perspective and i know how hellacious it is to sit in the lanes for a long time. just lettin you know that today wasn't a typical day. There were money races going on at Maple Grove and Atco, so anybody who wanted to race came to us or e-town if they had a test and tune.
