How much are you looking to spend on a complete LT1 Cam Set Up, with Lifters? And when would you need it by?

well im not gonna spend 100$ for a set of lifters and the cam that is used. id like to have my whole set-up completed by spring so derek can help me tune it

you should already have a roller cam in your engine. that menas you don't have to buy lifters unless one of yours ins bad.
roller lifters don't wear in to the cam the way hydraulic flat tappet does.
you can usually find LT1 cams for 35-50 bucks in good shape. if you get an f-body cam try to get one of the 96-97 cams. they revised teh exhaust lobe to create a stronger power band.

the lifters you have are teh exact same ones actually. they even reused the same lifter retainer design.

Your stock heads wont be able to handle the lift of the Hot Cam without maching. I hope you plan on changing your springs when you put the LT1 cam in too.

it depends how far you want to go with this. like rob said, you will need to machien teh spring pockets and guides to get that much lift onto a factory LO3 head.
a stock LT4 cam would be good though, stock heads can handle it as long as you install a proper valve spring with it.

how much power do you want from this?
what other mods are you doing to work with the cam swap? heads? intake? tuning? headers? rear gears?
how much do you want to spend on engine upgrades?

an LT1 cam will give you a very good power increase, great bang for the buck. do an intake, full exhaust, and get a custom chip burned and you will be lookin at serious power gains.

well heres my plans for it. the Lo3 in my car was rebuilt 10K ago so the bottom end is staying stock but its gettin ported 081 heads(from derek), LTx cam, Edelbrock headers, high flow cat, random tech 3" cat-back. 454 tbi set-up. i already have the Preformer TBI intake manifold and open element. im gonna use a version of dereks chip to get a baseline. i already have 3.42s im looking for 250-300hp and maybe mid 13s at most.
