Not to sound like your father but it is CRITICAL you vote. If you don't like either candidate, vote for a third party or writ in Mickey Mouse. The political parties keep detailed statistics on who votes: region, age, race, etc... today is your chance to be heard. If you want them to listen to our age group you need to vote.

i dont care what anyone says - your vote is worthless. It's all what makes you happy. If you feel that with your vote your at least speaking your mind then by all means go and vote. I just feel that it's a waste of my personal time, knowing that whether I go out or not, the outcome will be the same

"what if everyone felt that way"

well they dont

you can argue points all day long.. the fact is that your vote will never alter the election

sorry

I hate politics.

Maybe the outcome is just another douche in Trenton but guess what -- when they know that very few 18-24 year olds vote they don't give a **** and pass laws that hurt us cause they know we don't vote. Why do you think Social Security is the "third rail" -- because they know the Senior will vote and demonstrate en masse. Can you imagine if they implemented a Jersey "Horsepower Tax" where they tax fast cars to fund EMS services and justify it using idiot teenie boppers racing on the streets? They'll get away with it because they have the data that tells them you don't vote and thus their jobs are safe.

Even if you vote "the unthinkable" and vote for Castillo or write in John Delorean they at least know you voted.

I agree, I agree & I respectfully dissagree...I dont think there is a real choice in this election...Im not a dem or rep but the democrats suck...the repubicans wont do **** for me though other then possibly take my job working for the state so who do you think I voted for. I think castillo sounds like a great guy but even if he somehow did get elected which would never happen anywayz It really doesnt sound like he's policially associated enough to do any good in this state...I think he'd end up getting steamrolled by the two major political parties. It would be nice if there was a 3rd or 4th canditate worth voting for but my personal feeling is the state would only be worse off at the end of a independants term. And if your gonna vote independant vote for weedman lol Edward Forchion is on the ballot this year.

Actually they get you for registering to vote, having a drivers license, and any number of areas.

They use several things to pull people for jury duty. Voting, driver's license and something else. I've had jury duty several times and I got to be the jury foreman one time. It's better to get on a jury than to sit and wait to see if you're going to be picked. At least you getto accomplish something. And you really should vote regardless of who's running or if you think you can make a difference or not.

our state is the most corrupt state in the union. i'll say it again, because i think it's important for you to understand: our state is the most corrupt state in the union. out of 50 states and however many territories, our state has the lock on corruption. just say that you lucked out and instead of working for the man for 50-60 years, you get the opportunity to own your own business. that means, with the way politics is headed, that in order to make any money with your business you will have to become a major contributor to a political party - hopefully you'll pick the correct candidate and he gets "elected". this is what politics is becoming in our state and because of people who are too busy or think it's a waste of their time to go out and vote, it will happen even quicker and with less obstruction.

how much of a joke is it that a professional wrestler can become governor? or a movie star? how many of you think that those people are actually running their respective states? not really fair examples because ventura was a navy seal before he was a wrestler and ahnold married into the most politically connected family in the united states. i would bet that after ventura got into office he got his eyes opened to the real world of politics - which is why he only lasted one term and did not seek re-election.

same old same old - if it doesn't affect you directly, you couldn't be bothered. it's a shame that you don't see how it will affect you in the future.

I agree with jim that our state is the most corrupt in the nation. independent contractors, owners of car dealerships, medium sized business owners and anyone else who falls in that upper economic class all fund one candidate or another. Why? so that when they want to do something, the local government will turn their heads.

Politics in general really piss me off. Everyone who is a popular candidate is a cheat and a liar, no questions about it. It kinda makes you sick when you think that this counrty is so young and in such a short time went from being the land of the free where the people rule the government to this poor excuse of democracy. Thats why I voted today.

There is no excuse to not vote. If you don't you're an idiot and deserve to get your world rocked through some political influence. I know my vote was counted and I know THEY know how I voted... that's enough of a reason even if my guy didn't win.
Oh, and KC, nice avatar :) .

I voted, and although my candidate didn't win, I hope Corzine is going to do what he says. I'm just not that optimistic, because he was apart of an already corrupt state government and nothing changed. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see...
