since theres no pictures nor any other information about the car except the year and price and your plan with it ..... can't really say much about it.
The 85-90 t/a body style is nice, just gotta find all the pieces. including the spoiler (which is never in good condition) unless you go with the expensive fiberglass repo from places like ramairhood.com

it aint worth doing the conversion, just throw the 82-84 t/a kit on there and call it a day
You could go with a GTA type clone... but I definately like the Recaro T/A's ... do whatever you like man, I can vouche for your Firebird to Trans Am conversions :-D

go for it. the updated look beats the introductory look of the firebirds, hands down. i have all of the body pieces for 91-92 camaro RS/IROC except for the high-rise spoiler (next purchase). it'll be fun fooling the guys at the car shows...
"hey, waitaminnit... you've got the '83 dash and the '89 body work... what year is that car?"

you could buy an 89 gta 350 for less then 3 grand now which in the end will probably look better then a 83 updated to 89 body stuff and be much faster lol I say dont do it and find an 89gta if you want one that bad.
I went to look at the car with him. The body is pretty straight, needs a new driver door tho. Some tiny rust spots here and there. Its a carbed v6 thats how ancient it is. IIRC, it has 93,000 miles. We got it started and it looked like the rear main was spewing oil. Overall the car is the best bang for the buck, which he purchased for $100. Not too shabbby

NJSpeeder has the body parts for a GTA conversion I believe....talk to him if you choose to go that route. If you need bodywork or mechanical upgrades check out my company website.
