i think it's been debated long enough and it's time for action. just a few details need to be hammered out before we get started.
should we choose a central location, or should it rotate between member's houses? should there be a minimum buy-in or should there be a dollar cap, like $20, or $50, or should we leave that up to the individual members? should we shoot for a weekly game or leave it up to the monthly tournament? if we decide on a weekly game, can we also do the monthly tournament? if we decide on the monthly tourney, should that be open to all members or just those involved in the weekly game? how will the weekly game be structured? should we have dealer's choice or keep it to one game? same needs to be decided on the monthly tourney. if we decide on just one game for the monthly tourney, we'll need a dedicated dealer. perhaps if we rotate the monthly tourney, the person's house we play at could use a rake to supply munchies and soft drinks. i think it should be BYOB if you decide to drink because that just seems fair. of course, a pass-the-hat could be done to cover those costs among those who want to drink, as well.
well, i think that's everything. if you think of anything else, bring it up. otherwise, i am chomping at the bit to get to our first game - and i'd like to see it happen before the end of this month (november). i have a set of chips and 6 unopened decks of cards.
shuffle up and deal.
