my friend dan just bought one (yesterday) and i taught him how to drive it... i know somebody on here has one and i was wondering what he should do in terms of a new shifter and spoiler (we both hate the stock spoiler).

i really like the car. he got an orange one, i'll see if i can get some pics up later.

Mopar sells a short throw shifter.........it's decent....but people do put new Booger Bushing for the shift linkage for more crisp shift. You can buy it from modernperformance.

Also, a wing from 2000-2005 Neon SXT will fit the car. but given that the car is the Orange Blast...that color was only available in 2005...so if your friend wants the lower wing, just gotta find a 05 Orange Blast SXT to trade with or buy off of. I kind of like the spoiler......I don't like the low spoiler on it......but no wing is a nice clean look. May be u can remove the wing and have the holes filled in by a body shop.

id say just remove the spoiler completely if you dont like the way it looks now, ive seen a few lowered with tasteful wheels and no spoiler...one sexy neon

well when we went to AC last weekend we saw an srt-4 in the parking deck with a really nice spoiler - unfortunately we didn't take a picture of it and now we're trying to find it based on memory - it's not working too well.

thanks for that site, modernperformance has a TON of stuff on it. i think he's gonna do a new shifter, a new spoiler, and lower it and that's it.

Take a look on the SRT4 forums and look for Mad Dog shifters. Co-worker says that you can get a pretty heavy discount if you come from that site.

That wing is designed so that at high speeds, the 4 inch suspension lift that Dodge gave the Neon in the rear, will be reduced to 2 inch with all the down force.

yeah, Al is right. they look like they have a skyjacker rear suspension, but they handle VERY well.

he plans on getting lowering springs...

is there a way to lower the rear without springs a la the heater hose mod for 4th gens?

Tell your buddy not to lower it half assed..... potential problems can occur.

do you mean he should do springs/shocks at the same time or something?
