Nicer than the Camaro ********.
Actually, IMO , the rear curves of the car look exactly like a 1st gen camaro. Thats just me.
This car is wicked looking tho.

Wow, tons of imagination in this design....
Lets see, take a 1970 Challenger, wrap it around a moddified MB chassis, put a hemi in, and serve.
If its like its 300/Charger cousins, it should have a robust weight of about 3800lbs.
Enjoy your 2008 1970 Charger...ill take my 5th Gen Z28, thank you. Tell me how my tail lights look.

Sorry but if GM goes ahead with the pics that were leaked God help them. That thing is ass ugly. The rear lamps are ugly, the 1/4's look like something off a Mustang...
No thanks, you can keep it. I certainly hope GM does a little better than that weak ****.

They're bringing back a model called a 'challenger.' It should look like a ****ing challenger. GM's new camaro design SCREAMS 69. whats the difference? Even if it is 3800 lbs, whats the difference, they were boats back then, they can be boats now. Its just a sexy car.

Looks great to me. Think they need to do a little more with the interrior. But overall, I'm liking it.

Are you kidding me? That looks like a decent modern looking Challenger. IMO the "new" Camaro doesn't scream 69...it screams ugly ass design.

Yeah well If thats what its gonna look like I will put myself on the list of buying one of those. I will check off the boxes where it says HEMI and a Manual transmission as well as the HEMI orange paint scheme.

eh i doubt it will even be that light. i dont think we can comment on the 5th gen considering the actual car will be totally different from the one we saw. and thats less then a month away

No offense but it'll be nicer and faster than anything you own right now.
...and as far as your comments that the new Camaro won't be what was leaked...I sure hope your right because that was a disgrace.

and our cars are nicer and faster than a lot of others that people still like....its all a matter of opinion, if he dosent want one, someone else will buy it, and if you dont want a new camaro someone else will buy it..

Well, thats your personal opinion. I would say that my 72 is very sexy, much better when it was designed originaly.
Anyway, moving on. This car is just another move to get the die hards to buy up cars. I still dont understand the retro design idea. Ford has had success, but no more then any other new model they have released. 94 saw major sales increases as well, as there was a spike in 99. This is nothing record setting.
As for Camaro and the concept being showin on the 9th of Jan. I am more them pumped to see it. I have so much trust that this will be a great design, that I will be floating on air at the auto show when I get to touch the real thing. :)

Like I said Al, I hope you're right about the concept. After seeing those pics my faith has gone down big time.

Well your faith, but there was major positive reaction on may boards including CZ28 and GMI, two VERY large boards, populated with not only enthusiats, but regular car people.

whether you like the retro thing or not you cannot deny that it sells and in the auto industry that is everything. i know that will be inline to get a challenger if they arent too expensive. and considering that it is a tad smaller than a charger and 300C i dont see how it would weigh as much, its a mustang fighter, not a gto fighter. if gm comes out with a one badass camaro then good for them, thats what they needed and i hope they do it right. i could care less because im not into camaros. there are no more firebirds so im either gonna eventually get a GTO if i like the eventual redesign, or the new challenger. Dodge is going to sell these cars in obscene amounts and gm is going to have to play hard to catch up to them (if this car comes out before camaro) and the mustang, theres no denying that.

before everyone flips out on you i'll lay it down easy. the firebird is DEAD. there will be no more firebird/TA/formula whatever the hell you guys call them. there will be another GTO though and whether or not that will have the same underpinnings as the camaro is pretty much obvious in my opinion

The LX chassis under the Charger/300 tips the scale at over 2 tons.
Outside of a smaller wheel base and overall length, how much lighter do you think its gunna weigh? Load it with a Hemi, etc etc...its gunna be near 2 tons. It might want to be a Pony car, but it sure wont weight like one.
Retro sells, as does great design. 300 is a great design. Some dont like it, but thats not stopping sales. Before someone throws the "retro" word on it, the only retroness is the name of the car. Cars sell on great design, be it retro or not. This car to me is already old, very little to oooh or ahhh. At least with Ford they made it look somewhat modern. This just looks like a 70 Challenger.
A well designed Camaro could not only appeal to enthuisasts, but appeal to non Camaro owners. People not only leaving Mustangs, but 350z's, RX8's, and other sport coupes.

thats exactly what needs to happen or the camaro is dead in the water. i cant even count how many "non enthusiast" looking people i see driving around in chargers and mustangs. so far they have done very well appealing to the masses. hopefully the camaro will do the same because if it fails you know damn well thats probably the end of gm's affordable performance rear wheel drive offerings.

doesnt matter the condition, it could be a rust pit and theyd still be asking 10,000. even ****** mopar prices are through the roof these days thanks to those retards watching barret-jackson.

The new issue of Road & Track has the Challenger on the front cover. The article sounds very promising. Has a really cool looking engine. The only thing they say that could keep the car from seeing production is if Chrysler either can't make more room at a current plant or build/find a new plant.
