Hey everyone. It's nice to know there's a place where I can get some f-body info with local references to shops and places. I have a 2nd gen '81 camaro sport coupe with a lame-ass 229 and a TH250 tranny that I bought last year for a couple hundred bucks from a guy in Pemberton (south jersey). I just found what looks like a decent engine/tranny combo for an even "decenter" price. It's a custom built 400 with a TH350 and I can't wait to swap out the v-"sick" that's in it now. Anyone done a V6 to small block swap? If so, any pointers? Anyway, I live in West Windsor (Princeton) so if anyone has any advice to offer or knows of any shops in my area that might help me out, let me know! Thanks.

Brian

Welcome to the club.

I'm sure that 400 small block will really wake up your second gen. There are several of us right down here in Ewing with plenty of swap experience, so feel free to give us a shout if you are down for doing the swap yourself (with some help).

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Hope you all had a nice holiday and I appreciate the info/advice. Tru2Chevy, are you in Ewing? I'm actually planning on doing the swap at a buddy's garage off of Broad St. in Chambersburg. Also there's a place called Buster's Auto by the White Horse Circle that specializes in f-bodies (they have a sweet red 81z parked out back). Do you have any experience with them? Would you recommend them for any future work I might need done? Thanks.

I don't have any experience with specialty shops in the area, so maybe someone else will be able to vouch for them. I do most of my own work, and anything I can't do I take to my dad's shop in Lawrenceville to get his help with.

I am in Ewing, as are several other members here.
