what motor? Any mods done to the engine? Was hptuners able to compensate for the new tires/gears? I've heard of issues when going over a certain size.

Its got the 5.3, only engine mods are K&N intake and the magnaflow muffler. I had plans for more, but never did anything. The HP worked great for tires/gears. I have friends who are cops and after I programed it I checked it against radar and it was exact.

Thanks for all the compliments too guys....:D

those 5.3's have a lot of balls. That model year was 295hp i think and my 05 5.3 has 310 ponies stock.

Just asking out of curisoisty (as in not stirring trouble or whatever), but is a truck that high even street legal? Does it have to go through rollover tests?

as far as i know, the stability test in NJ had be suspended indefinately. I was down there a few years back getting my old motorcycle inspected for a clean title(was salvage) and that was the same place the did the ramp tests and that area was all shut down. The guy said they were having problems and complaints so the state gave it up. i dont know if its true but so ffar everyone i talked to backed that story up. And now that the DMV became privetaly owned as the NJ motor vehicle commission it appears they completely forgot about it. Thats why i have a 8"/6" lift going on my bronco with 38"s, and i'm not worried at all.

*edit* oh and looking at that truck i'm sure it would pas the RTI test. the problems were the shortwheelbase vehicles that were getting lifted 6-8 inches. (4" is legal on everything in NJ, after that WAS when the ramp came into play)

Yes, my truck has a valid NJ state inspection including all lift paperwork. They still do have lift laws and the inspection station is still open and all laws are still enforced. When I went through I had 10" ( no body lift ) and 38" tires. The guy was cool and passed me even though he said it was a couple inches over. I since added a 3" body and dropped down to a 37" tire. Technically I would need to get it reinspected, but I have never been pulled over in my truck ( knock wood ) and I drive all over the place.

State rollover test sucks. I took my truck when I first got it and they gave me all kinds of problems....been going private ever since. And I've only got 6" of lift with 35's. Sweet truck man.....definitely along the lines of what I'll be doing with my next one.
