Don't need it. It would take YEARS to compete with Atco. I know I'm biased since I lived near there but I love Atco. I'd MUCH rather go there than Etown.

with the rest of that park being as elaborate as it sounds i dont think it would be hard to compete with atco. if they were to build a track comparable to e town and hold national events, i think atco would lose business. :( . i really like atco, but money rules and compare e town to atco. there arent any big names that come to atco anymore. i remember as a kid seeing john force, warren johnson, and don perdon and many other big names at atco. not any more. biggest name i saw in all year was kenny koretsky who was there to test and tune. if i had to choose between a new track and atco i with atco.

Atco is perfectly big enough to hold national events. Nobody ever thinks of this, but isn't it possible the owners don't WANT the big events there? They have enough of their own stuff going on, and enough regular racers to stay in business and keep making money. Tracks DON'T make much money off of the national events. NHRA takes the majority of it. About all the track makes is the food sales, and a lot of people bring their own.

Atco has one of the most loyal fan bases I have ever seen. This past year they won the team championship at the Division 1 bracket finals, and they've won it at least 3 other times that I can recall in the past 10 years or so. Considering there's 14 tracks in Division 1, thats quite an accomplishment. No new track in so. jersey would be able to compete with ANY of the tracks in jersey. 3 tracks in one tiny state does not leave much left.

sorry, i dont have the inside info. . i wouldnt want to go to any other track in south jersey, i am a fan of atco, i just thought a national event would pay better and create more fan base attracting weekenders and such.
