I replaced the ignition module this morning and no go, though I fixed another problem. I had that plastic cover that covers the distributor cap off the plenum and when I cranked the car the kid that was watching me said he saw spark coming out of that area. So I took a look and the "spark enhancer" thing was busted. I got the piece for free, otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time getting one. So I removed it, cranked the car and no spark shooting anywhere and the car sounded a lot better..even just cranking. Makes me wonder how long it was like that and how much power it was taking away. So I guess my problem is definitely the fuel pump. Before I do anything I want to do that check that I think Mike posted or maybe I read it on TGO..whatever, I'm gonna do that and go from there.

My friend Steve has a Holley 255 LPH, I'll prolly buy it off him. I wanted to fix some surface rust and repaint under the car before I had my SFC's welded in, so I guess now is a good chance to do both haha

why does everyone always say that. You can do it with the tank in....

yea, but you're cutting within inches of rubber fuel lines. I'd rather spend the 3 hours and do it right without hacking my car up. The stock pump lasted all these years..replacing it now with a good one should yield me at least another 10 years.

Access panels are always a good idea..
But if your taking the tank down its a good idea to do like you wanted to do and pain up and around in there
And hell..if its not completly rusted out..i would go ahead and paint the tank itself..save you some headache down the line
that or get a plastic tank :D
