theres a 96 firebrid near me for 2500 needs plenty of bodywork. but i was wondering if a 98-2002 front end can be put on ? i dont like the front ends of the 93-97's lol

You have to swap the hood, nose, support & headlight structure behind the nose, and the fenders. Basically all the body and headlight stuff in front of the doors....

yeah, i was going to do a similar swap on my 93 TA but i never got that far, it does work out to be a failry expensive swap, even used parts, figure at least $75 per fender, hood(stock used firebird: about $100, ram air:$400-$700), rad support a few hundred(aftermarket new about 200-300, used isnt really the best option), metal impact bumper used about $50, front styrofoam support used about $50, used front bumper about $150, Headlights used about $200 per side, marker lights/fogs like $100. So right there you are looking at least $1000 before paint and any body work needed on used parts. plus was anything damaged under the current nose like battery tray/overflowtank, rad, condensor, etc. If the 96 firebird is cheap(under 1k) then i say do it, but otherwise think twice, at least it has the 3.8 v6. If you do the swap, and if you update the gauge cluster, console, wheels, and taillights($200-$300 for the pair), It would visually pass as a 98+ bird. A camaro nose swap is much cheaper part for part, but in 93-96 the dash still gives away that its not a 98+.
