Tomorrow I graduate from police academy for the New Jersey Dept of Corrections and get sworn in as a corrections officer for the state of NJ with full law enforcement officer powers.

It's mostly a mental game. You have to be in decent shape, but if you can play the mental game you'll do alright.

thats cool, i'm sorry for the loss of their 2 officers. 2 officers from the honor guard at my jail went to their funeral.

i got a friend starting the police academy at the end of the month for oradell police...i applied for his dispatcher position.....stilllllll waiting to hear back...

thanks guys. Maroman88 i was a dispatcher/superviser for 4 years before i went to police academy it's a great job. good luck with it.

James, I dunno if I can make it. I ment to tell you on AIM, but a guy broke his ribs, and he wont be able to come in for at least 2 more weeks. Gunna suck when I go on vacation this weekend.

thanks big guy i appreciate it.
they threaten to fire you a lot, they tell you one thing to do then yell at you for doing it. your up very very early and and don't go to sleep untill very late. you have to operate on minimul sleep. it's all just a mind ****. if your a strong person mentally you won't have a problem. you just have to realize it's all a big game and play along.

13 weeks at academy and 2 weeks on the job training. during the OJT you go home and don't stay at academy.

naa not at all, NJSP academy is 26 weeks and municipal academy is 23 or 24 weeks i think.

congrats man! My cousin just recently graduated and is now a police officer in Ramsey. He was also telling us stories of the academy and how its a big mental game.

Well, I tech do have to work (pictuers and stuff for GMI), but you bet your ass that I will be all over the car.

i went through monmouth county police academy, Im currently a Class 2. That was a long academy, 10 months and you went at night. Very happy I did it though, prepare me for later.
