When is the last time the Flyers won the cup? Before you were born?

Great finish to that game! I went into the other room to poor a beer(new keg on tap) and by time I get back the game is over. 7 seconds of overtime!

LOL, typical response. I was waiting for that. I can play that game too you know...1 cup in how many decades? It can go on and on and on.
The Rangers played a good game but in typical New Yawk fashion they ****ed it up :D
I love getting a response out of Rangers fans :D
Good game though. :) I still think the Rangers goaltending situation is goinna bite them in the playoffs. Their rookie is good but he's a rookie. Weekes is "decent" but not championship quality.

Yup...and yes it was before I was born :D
I remember the debacle in '97 though. I was 7 when they were in the finals in 87...scarely thing is I remember a lot of it.

I'm just busting ball though. The Rangers played a good game. Typical hard hitting Eastern Conference hockey which is, in my opinion, the best hockey you can find.

I haven't seen the Rangers in 1st place in the last week of December since like 1993.

No? Their last 7 or so games haven't exactly been great performances ;)

Yeah, but the last 3 games they were all OT losses, so they gained a point in each. They're 5th in the conference and only 6 points out of 1st in the Atlantic. Don't count them out just yet.

I'm not counting them out...like I said they played a good game tonight. I just don't think they have the goaltending to really go anyway in the playoffs.
But regardless of all that I'm just glad to see the NHL back on the ice :)

Oh come on, I'm sure you guys remember the saying "Hat trick in 76"! Seems like yesterday they won the cup 2 years in a row.

Don't you mean the Colorado team that north Jersey bought! I was a Flyers fan before the Devils even existed so there's no way I could be a Devils fan. And that strike shortened season cup is one worth talking about! :-?

so in its shorter existance devils won more cups then your precious flyers? is that what you're trying to say?

I totally agree w/ you on the goaltending. Weekes is so inconsistent. Lundquvist (sp?) I think has what it takes to be the starter. They should play him more and get a solid veteran backup. Weekes is a vet, but he's crappy. He's bounced from team to team his whole career. He made a terriffic save at the end of regulation last night, but then gives up a pussy shot in the first 12 secs of OT. Yeah, the angle was a little weird, but I could've stopped it (and I could, I use to play goal).

I'm saying I'm not a bandwagon fan. You probably never watched the Devils while they were losing in the early years. All the Devils "fans" suddenly appeared when they first won.

You mean the NJ “we’ve never beat the Rangers in the playoffs” Devils? :)
Not so good without the trap this year, huh?

At least we can have a parade down an actual street and not tour around the arena parking lot

I got tix for Rangers vs. Devils (at Continental) in March. I'm psyched, right on the ice behind goal.
LOL! OWNED.
owned? when was the last time rangers were in the playoffs? and with goaltender like weeks thet wont make it this year either. everyone says how he made one great save versus Forsberg and all but then he missed a shot 7 seconds into the OT! what a JOKE!
and about the parade, who cares? to have a parade you first gotta win the cup which will not happen for the rangers anytime soon.
to the guy who said im a bandwagon fan. i've been a fan ever since i moved here from russia which was in 1999. before that i used to be a fan of Red Wings but i started going to the devils games when i moved to jersey cuz you know detroit is kinda far and stuff.
Either way Rangers suck and either wont make it into the playoffs at all or lose in the first round.
