you may not want to do it....as your car is a 1999. the paint under the badge area will be a darker shade of black than the areas that has been exposed for the last 7 years. But if you wanna do it, get a heat gun and heat them sumbitches up for a while...then use thin fishing lines and seesaw them out.

well i could just take one off and see how it looks, if it looks like crap i could always just glue it back on

how about ditching the rear badge and getting a pontiac emblem instead

that would be kinda dumb considering it says "PONTIAC" on the bottom of the rear bumper ;)

why? an emblem would fill up the empty space very nicely imo. stupid would be spelling out pontiac again

how do you spell stupid? p...o...n...t...i...a...c...
if you're going to ditch them in favor of the clean look, then applying another badge after is defeating the purpose. i am in favor of the clean look and i see there are certain things that would be more difficult to get rid of than others. try pulling off one of the badges and see how it looks. besides being a shade darker than the surrounding paint, it's likely to leave glue behind which would need to be cleaned up (goof off, gone, or a similar product - tested in a wheelwell or something to make sure it won't eff up the paint).
i figure if you wanna shave emblems off a car fine, but no one should ever put emblems on a car to upgrade it, ive seen grand prixs with GTP emblems and they werent, stuff like that bothers me. just shave it and make it look like a shaved base model, then do the engine and make it sorta a sleeper. if you want a gtp, i say buy a gtp, i go off on my local friends about this all the time, they tried telling me to shave my SS emblems..why the hell would i downgrade my car to what a v6 would have. shaved emblems are cool but not for all cars IMO. If the emblems will make the car stand out then some can be added, like retro z28 ones. Like the monte i built, its a true SS but we are putting on 98-02 camaro SS emblems which just look nicer, and we have a emblem for the back that says "5.7 Tuned Port Injection" cuz thats the motor in it now. well i guess im saying is that you have the right to do what you want, its your car and up to you alone.

how do you feel about cars wearing SS badges that are way over the top? one of the mags did a tri-five from the frame up, everything all new and of course they stuffed a 572 in it. they applied SS badges. i liked it. it's not like there was ever a tri-five SS, so they are just letting people know there's something under the hood with the SS badge. and, of course, since everything was brand new, there were never any badges on it at all.
