according to allpar.com and other sources:

“Prices will probably start around $22,000 for the V6 model (I don't know at this point if they will use a tweaked 3.5L or the 4.0L, whatever one they use, expect about 275HP). There will probably be a few trims of the V6 models, each with varying content. The next model up will be the 5.7L Hemi "R/T" which will come in at just under $30K. The SRT-8 with 425+ horsepower will most likely be about $36,000 - $38,000 depending on options.”

My Long time dream car could be a few years away, I hope things go in that direction!!
My first car was supposed to be a 1973 dodge challenger but when I got to the dealer (back in 1982) it was actually a dodge charger that i ended up falling in love with.
But a new challenger with a 275hp v-6? damn thats a lot, i think I will shoot for the Hemi(5.7 will probably put me at a REAL budget)

I belive it when they make room for it.
Difference between Camaro and Chrysler.
Chrysler has no where to make the car, GM has 3 plants, and 1 getting a 3 billion dollar infusion to make RWD cars.

Mustang GT starts at 25k. You just cant touch one for at least 28k.
LS2 Camaro will start at around 30k, and the L92 Z28 will probably start at 35k.

sorry for being a moron, but what is an L92? is that the 6.2 liter motor? The current LS2 6.0L could even be called an LS3 by then and be 6.2L or 6.3L (with displacement on demand most likely on all of them), a lot of things could happen with the motors by then.

Yes, the 6.2 is the L92. They will be standard in the Escalades. Its a combo of teh LS7 and LS2.

Unless you are a handbuilt Ferrari or Aston with a V12 making 600hp, tipping the scale over 2 tons is unacceptable for a pony car.
And people mock the GTO for being heavy.
Where is the turret for this thing? What kinda barrel does this bad boy have? 120mm smooth bore.
I bet it uses the 6spd...from an M1A1 Abrams.

Like I said, another overweight hemi car, big whoop. Not even a creative design, they just ripped the 70-71 body style and tossed on a 72-75 hood.

And people mock the GTO for being heavy.True, but it's got more power/torque too (though I still think overall that the aluminum LSX motors are superior to the iron block Hemi).
Hope the Camaro comes in light.

SRT8 Charger vs GTO in a recent comparo had the GTO out in front. Charger weighs just as much as the Challenger.
Charger SRT8 also cost over 40k.
GTO is the win.

It's good to see that the GTO will finally come out in front of them damn Dodge... (Dripping Oil Drinking Gas Everywhere) <-- Still holds to it's name... other then being the biggest tank on the road...

I also hope the new Camaro comes out at around 3400-3600lbs... Then GM can have a "Dodge Eater" for sure
