Hey BigAl-yea, it's got the 7.3 diesel. Since it's bone stock right now, I'm gonna have to pump it up to keep up with Joe. And speaking of Joe, we should do that at the track rental, would be fun, tons of black smoke pouring down the 1/4 mile!!!!!

He didn't succeed in doing ****!! All he was able to do was post that he has a bunch of **** sitting on the shelves that he needs to install.

As for the reason we are actually reading this thread, who else out there has a Ford diesel with the 7.3?? I have a 2000 F350 and was wondering what you modified to make it better. In order for me to keep up with Joe's mods, I need some answers on this one!!

How about looking into the turbo, I seen of some truck show on speed they replaced that. I forget the brand they used.

Nah, I am looking for simple mods. I'm putting my main money where it counts, the Nova. Joe, I have the bully dog catalog, so you better watch out. When it snows some more and I get more spending money, yada, yada, yada.....LOL

Plus, I had the hypertech programmer for my truck and, think of this, my truck is a 2000 F350, 4x4, single rear wheel, crew cab, long bed, fiberglass cap, etc.. and I turned it SIDEWAYS on Broad st. pulling out of my parking lot, so if bully dog says bigger results, that 7.3 will be screaming!!!!!!!!!!

I ahve a few friends with the 7.3 fords, sick trucks with a little work. My friend did an exhaust and gets sideways all the time. he got the programmer for Xmas. Too bad they dont make a programmer for my dodge ram w/ the 12v cummins, but by the summer i wanna do the fuel pump torque plate, injectors, larger turbo, exhaust, and intake. then i'll be up for running you other diesel guys.

lol, sorry, even with track rentals, you still have to go through tech and have a license.

Damn... maybe I can ride along? in any ones car?

V
01-19-2006, 06:12 PM
i believe in nj, atco may be the only track that allows passengers, and Atco is very expensive to rent. Most likely the track rental would be Island, and there are no passengers allowed there. but thats just from what ive heard...

and now stop hijacking.. back to diesel perforamce, lol

WayFast84
01-19-2006, 06:13 PM

blown69rat
01-19-2006, 06:31 PM
Someone call a federal marshal and arrest WayFast84 for hijacking!!!!!! LOL

Anyway, 1st thing, track rental will be at atco, cecil, or island. 2nd, all are fairly resonable to rent. 3rd, I don't think anyone in their right mind should allow somebody to ride along.

Now, back to the topic at hand, I like the banks kits for the exhaust but, like you said, they are so damn LOUD. I drive this thing everyday with my kids in it, that would be too annoying. Plus, when I start my Nova, I wake up the neighborhood as it is, I don't want to do that everyday.

while on diesel topic, has anyone ever considred looking into biodiesel. the kit to make it costs 3k but if you make enough, it works out to a reasonable cost once the equipment is payed off. once paid off, the biodiesel would cost .50cents per gallon of methanol, and .20cents per gallon of lye. so it would be like .70cents a gallon for biodiesel. I couldnt use enough fuel to have it make sense to buy it myself, but if i can find enough people interested, maybe id do it. I would probably sell the fuel for $1 a gallon. I would also use it myself to show its safe. I know its a big change to consider a alternative fuel and to trust it so i dont expect many people to be interested.

oh and i didnt know atco wasnt that bad to rent compared to other tracks, and i didnt think passengers would ever be allowed, but i must have misheard something in the past.

biodiesel is a good fuel and all, but i jsut dont have the time, space, nor materials for the production, blown rat knows my place is already looks like a car lot!!

update: 5" exhaust came today hehe

blown69rat
01-20-2006, 03:37 PM
I agree with Joe. I've seen it done and it takes some time to do which a lot of us don't really have. The contraption is pretty big too and I don't have the space either (another car lot).

Hey Joe, get that **** installed already!! LOL

FYI - I believe NJ state law says that no passengers are allowed....or maybe it's just the track rules, but there are no passengers allowed at any of the dragstrips in NJ.

anywho....Joe, can't wait to hear the truck with the new exhaust, sounds like it's badass!
