lol
i am sure production will be all filled up with wiring and stuff. they don't even have brake lines going to an ABS block that we all know will be there in production. lol
although it would be nice if everyone could stand in front of the engine while working on it like i can in the 76. !clutch fan and !fan shroud makes some nice space to work in :D

God that gauge cluster needs work.

The entire dash board needs work. I was just reading a few mags that were covering it, and theirs no way a 69' Era-Ish dash set up will fly these days. I really liked the Challengers dash board / guage set up.

Yeah, and did you see the dash when it's lit up? It looks like Christmas lights are in it. The spacious engine looks great, although that won't happen in production.

Meh, the GTO and CTS-V both have pretty roomy engine bays, after you remove the 400 lbs of plastic shrouding.
some pics fixed, a few added.
*****EDIT 1/31/06...some more pics i located... i figured id post them towards the beginning of the thread......******

OK besides hoods, badges and stripes what is different there on the exterior from a normal 05+ stang? if there is any
i think just HP wise, body is basically the same
When i was there, the largest crowd was around the camaro, 2nd was the challeneger..
the GT 500 stang was like 6th or so... more people were standing aroudn the ford supercheif then at the stang

Damn that "Camaro" is horrible... the interior is ugly, the front end is rediculous, the tail lights look mad, and the rear side vents are too Mustang like.
Now that Challenger on the other hand, is amazing. Ill be getting one of them... only thing that sucks is that Ill have to constantly look at that ugly ass Camaro front end in the rear view mirror!

I will pretty much guarantee that neither of those cars will see production without some very visible changes....and I wouldn't be so sure about seeing the Camaro in the rearview mirror of that 4200 lb Challenger.

Uh...show me the Mustang side vents?? Its CLEARLY based off the 1969 Camaro.
When you get the Challenger, are you gunna put a 4 inch body lift on it? Cause at 4200lbs, Thats a 2dr Ram coupe. Wonder if they are gunna have a 4wd high and low gear for it too? Put on a set of A/T's and you are ready to rock and roll.

Again, Im sorry to offend you Mr. GM Executive. Seriously, are you on GM's payroll? Because every time I say something negative about a GM, you seem to take offense to it.

he has a point though. the styling cues are off the 69. if it looks mustangish to you then ford is the one guilty of copying. and you cant go out barking out comments like ugly this, hideous that without justification. why not say why you feel that way with some justification?

I like GM, and when comments are made without any sort of base, I get upset. ****, at least I wont pick you apart like on CZ28.
Just looking at the GT500 and the Camaro concept, I see NOTHING similar about the 2 outside of 4 wheels, 3 box, long nose short deck design.
If you want to buy a Challenger, thats cool, but to say that it looks like a Mustang is just WAY off base. If thats the case, the Challenger looks like a Mustang.

Wow, where did he say it looked like a GT500 or that style Mustang? He didn't. I think he meant earlier Mustangs. Guess what? He's right. Maybe Ford "copied" the 69 Camaro vents, maybe they didn't but they look oddly familar when compared to certain year Mustangs.
Also, back to your Challenger comments. What does the weight have ANYTHING to do with it's looks?

You at least made a valid point about the weight.

I brought the Challenger in saying that if you are gunna make a claim that the Camaro looks liek the Mustang due to the basic set up of a 3 box, 4 wheel pony car, then you should include the Challenger too.

Without any sort of base? I stated my OPINION that I think its hideous, and that the vents are mustang-like as the most recent past generation 'stang. Where did I write factual statments? Nowhere... and you really think Id care if I "get picked apart" on a message board? Come on now!

That was just a joke... Ive got no idea how either car will perform once finally produced... but if it was based on looks, IMO the Charger would smoke it in a straight line race. :D
HEY............ i just posted this thread to show some pics, and share what i saw at the show, not to debate the styles. That can be another thread if desired. I planned on posting more pics i took of other cars in this thread, but ill put those in another thread so people who want to see them dont have to go through pages of bickering. thank you.

i think you all need to take a step back from the computer for a while. these are concept cars. while the production version will most likely resemble the concept, there is very little chance that they will release the concept as the production model.
opinions vary. if we all thought the same thing, how much fun would that be? but keep it in perspective, please.

notice i said "very little chance", not none. and the reason why the solstice went from concept to production with very little change was the rush to production that they had - how many cars go from concept to production in 18 months? that's pretty much unheard of, which is why i said "very little chance". nothing is impossible.
thanks for pointing that out and making me feel all defensive and ****, though. i owe you one.
