I'm lowered on 315's and I still haven't done the BFH mod. It shouldn't be a problem at all on a 17x9.5. Thats pretty much a regular 4th gen size too; especially with a 275 tire.

jin1480:

What year is your car? The 4th Gens up to late 1996's have an oversize rear axle hub. Often, when you use factory later model F-Body or Corvette wheels, the hub hole in the wheels is smaller than the axle hub. In that case, the inside diameter of the hole in the wheel will need to be sanded or lightly ground for the wheel to fit.

Whether they will need the BFH depends on the offset. If the offset is in the range of 45-56mm, you will not have any problems front or rear with a 9.5 wide wheel. Not likely to require hammering at all, as stated in the post above.

if it is a real corvette wheel the offset may require some hammering, my 18s did but i never put the 17s on the back so i dont know.

if they are replicas that are made for a f-body then they will need no hammering

Check out the "does it fit" thread on ls1tech.com. This explains everything in detail, and it's a great reference. Mine are 17x9 and they fit no problem.
