View Full Version : READ, I have to let a few things air out
K, I thinks its time for me to get this off my chest. Me, being the hella nice guy I am, I take everything as a joke. My life is one big standup comedy. Im hardly ever mad, angry, or engraged. It takes A LOT to piss me off. I get along with everyone and anyone. Now, NJFBOA is a great community to get my info on F-bodies. 99% of the people here are very mature, mechanically-educated people to talk to to get any information from, just straight up "cool". You have your "postwhores", your "hijackers", your "n00bs", your "comedians", and your "ignorant ********", as does 98% of every known populated forum on the web. NJFBOA in fact holds the defination of postwhores and hijackers, which is pretty much ok. When someone wants to get info and asks questions, there's always a few ppl that will answer. Im not directing this to everybody or anybody, just the handful of ****ing idiots that have to pick on a 14 year old to feel "cool" . If your not gonna answer his ****ing questions, then skip it. If he hijacks a thread with a question, skip it. If you get that sudden rush to be an immature dickhead, then direct yourself to a Colostamy website where you can talk all the "****" you want. Youth learns about cars from mature people, especially that of someone who owns a first car. I get quite irritated seeing ****ing idiots that have nothing else better to do than talk **** to a minor 14 year old about how fast/slow he is, or his hijacking of the site. Who gives a ****? Everyone does it. You see that banner at the top of the site? Yeesssssss, thats a car, and oooo another one. And hey, if you go to the main community, you can see a whole ****ing section of troubleshooting your vehicle... HEY is this a car site???!! Yeahhhh I THINK IT IS!!!.. *DING* *DING* *DING* thats why most of us are here, to ask and answer questions. Sure, I pick on a few people on here, but I'm merely joking. They know Im joking. I'm never serious when Im making fun of someone. So, what I'm trying to say, you gotta be a complete ****ing fool for pissing me off like this, so grow the **** up and stop being crybabys when a 14 year old hi-jacks a thread. Everyone learns from mistakes.

I am with you man. I was once in his shoes and caught alot of ****. Being 14 having a car, and trying to work in it was a major part of growing up for me, and it was a great experience for me. Sure there were ******** who always said "He'll Never get that car working" and the like. It only set me out to show them up. I was lucky and got to learn from alot of older people, some ORIGINAL hotrodders, and most of them were amazed that I was attempting such things at my age. We all should be happy a 14 year old kid ISNT driving a Honda. This has caught my attention and pissed me off too because for me it was on a personal level. I KNOW what its like to be young and not know stuff. I KNOW what its like to want to work on a car and have trouble, and ask older people who have jobs, familys, their own cars to work on, to help me with my car. Kane I cannot agree with you more on this subject. There are always the people who will try to bring you down, but ya cant let these people bother you. True enthusiasts will be there to lend you a helping hand, not take things away from you that you work hard to own or discredit your knowledge or enthusiasm. Thank god this select group is only 1% or less of the bunch!

i was a mechanical geek in high school. i would always catch **** from my friends when i'd stay home on the weekend and work on my dirt bike.
things like the internet are great for kids in his shoes. it gives him the opportunity to learn things from people they would never normally meet in their lifetime.
i've been in his situation and had to figure alot out for myself, which wasn't always a good thing.
i've picked on him before (ie:buddy list thread) but in a totally obvious joking manner. he has a sense of humor just like the rest of us, but some people take it to far.
if you ever have a question wayfast, don't be afraid to PM me and ask. like i said in the buddy list thread, post #477 to be exact, i have no problem giving you help if you need it.
keep your head up junior.....and remember, don't take everything we say to seriously (ie: Kasey's height, Ian's Jeep, etc.......)

WTF is with that quote in your sig?
soo what your saying is its ****ed up to say somthing mean to him, but its ok to say that the people that do are p.o.s. ******** that do nothing but bring the board down..
that would be fairly hypocritical.
and since it seems many will think this is directed at me, i would like to ask someone to find a thread where i got personal and wasnt directed to his waste posts and useless comments. i made a couple JOKING about the color of his car and in one stated it was ok because i drive a gay colored pickup. the rest of the comments were strictly on site related matters. Now on that note i would like you to count the amount of threads where he has called the 4th gen ta/ firebird ugly, this is fine its his opinion, but in each instance i asked him to explain why it was so ugly and i get no logical responses to back up his opinion. and then since you think i attacked his person, HE made a post saying i was jelous of him and blah blah blah so there it is, him being the one getting personal.
this is basically all just a big waste of time, but i guess im trying to say if your gonna come to someones defense read all the comments made before throwing your own into the mix....

ok, everybody push away from the keyboards a second and take a deep breath. there are some people here who woudl completely disrespect a kid like matt, and some who have.
the other side of the coin is that matt is not a defenseless 4 year old, he is a 14 year old. if he, or anyone other member for that matter, finds something that another member posts too personal or offensive in any way they can take it up with the admins or that person privately. the best first step to take would be too ask the person to back in down a notch because you find it offensive and i would hope that any person here would be respectful enough to do so. if you feel the situation can not be resolved privately, please contact one of the admins and we will do our best to help out.
please keep everything on point in this topic, if it gets out of control we will be forced to shut it down.
Like I've said, not directed at you... was your name mentioned in the above statements? No.
we arent that brutal, he should just grow the **** up and not ask stupid questions......
ahh that quote, that was page one not two i thought, and im sorry but.....he asked if he could break his sisters taillight with a golf club? HELLLO its not like i made fun of him for asking a car question, that was legitimatly a immature, stupid question and if he wasnt joking when he made that thread, than i stand by my qote...he should grow up.

exactly.....and im surprised you left it open even at this point but maybe it will turn out good.....
if i offend you, pm me, or im me, or tell tim/justin to ban me, the defence shouldnt come from a third party...
I dont see anything wrong in the question about penalties of bashing a taillight... thats why its a question, not a statement. He's asking for a ligit answer as to what would happen if there was a forcefully-induced broken taillight. Correct?

Tim i agree with your point to an extent. as a young'n one can be too embarrassed or possibly have too much respect to make a response to someone older then him. i dont think any lines were crossed too bad if he hasnt left yet and is still in good spirits. also, i did not know his name is Matt. Hi matt

Well, if you've talked to him outside the website i.e. AIM, and seen that he might not wanna post on the site anymore cuz ppl make fun of him, then yea. The whole point of this community is to introduce ppl to F-bodies, and cars in general, not to push them out by taunting and/or making fun of them. Dude, hes a 14 year old for christ sakes.

werent you one of the many people that drove transamchick and her boyfriend away from the site?
I have nothing against you Mike, but its kinda lame when I'm reading thru posts and all this kid endures is being made in fun of. In my eyes, he has all the right to ask whatever question to a certain extent.
The first ammendment: freedom of speech. anyone can say whatever the hell they feel like saying.
Tim, its true that he is a 14 year old, and that he is old enough to be on this site, but emotionally he is not as mature as the rest of us and he probably takes a lot of the joking to heart. I'm not saying everyones a jerk for picking on him (even though I do think it was a little out of line), and I'm also not saying everything he posts is relevant, because its not. I would, however like to see these kinds of things handled through PM's like tim said. although it is a touchy subject that has gotten more than a few people fired up, there is no reason to make a spectacle of the situation.
thats my 2 cents! :)

So wait, you see nothing wrong with a 14 year old asking how much of a penalty hed incur by committing a CRIME? Are you really serious about this? By even ANSWERING his question your saying that its acceptable to do it. ITS NOT. He SHOULD be bashed for asking that question, because maybe itll make him think twice next time hes thinking of doing something ILLEGAL.
but to be even simpler its his sisters car, why ask about lawsuits or police...it wont make it past the parents...so how the hell is anyone on here supposed to know what his parents would do to him

Well I agree , at least mostly, this is definetly a cool site with good people, as i stated on an earlier thread (One I think I started called something like..I used to be younger once) He was getting picked on right away and i stated that I thought that was very unfair. I dont care much for it..but at the same time, im not sure why..has he posted enough negative threads/replys to warrant this?
well anyway, Lets take it easy and get back to having fun, and sharing thoughts , ideas, on a COMMON love we all have!!

Regardless, its still illegal distruction of property... doesent matter whos it is. Hes 14, if he sees he can get away with doing it to his sisters car without getting locked up, whats to say he wont think he can get away with something else?

considering the number of open threats and comments about beating the S!#* out of people that have been on this and many other boards before i wouldn't consider it anything major. 99 times out of 100 it is jsut someone venting through their keyboard.
much of the advice offered was also telling him not to do it. that is a better leson to teach a 14 year old than making fun of him for his query.
now take a cleansing breath and step down one notch please. this is a discussion, no need to get heated about it.

maybe we are jsut looking at it differently. i would rather see him say something and be told no by us than to bottle it up and end up going off on someone down the line.
hearing someone say no usually makes a person stop for a second and think instead of being reactionary and getting into trouble.

o come on. you act like we all never did anything stupid as a kid. when i was 14 and my sister was 16 you used to disassemble pieces of her car to piss her off and stop her from driving. its all good

Man -- I must have been away for a long time. I didn't even pick up on this. I'm gonna have to search some of the threads.
And just to bolster the argument, it if weren't for someone here and on TGO I would have never known about the third "hidden" power steering pump adjustment bolt to retighten my belt.
By even ANSWERING his question your saying that its acceptable to do it. ITS NOT. He SHOULD be bashed for asking that question, because maybe itll make him think twice next time hes thinking of doing something ILLEGAL.
Sure, I dont see nothing wrong... WITH ASKING THE QUESTION, I never said it should be answered, or committed. You people have to put on your coke-bottle glasses and read what Im trying to say. Its the fact of the matter that he is asking a question, which is perfectly fine. Take Ian's answer. Told him it was stupid and youll get a lawsuit, and he wouldnt like it if someone did the same to him. Perfect answer. Then a few other ppl come on and make fun of him for it.
All I am saying is, the kid is being made in fun in certain threads where he shouldnt have. Most is borderline, some go way too far. Theres a difference between being made fun of "personally" and "jokingly" . Like me, Ive called him WaySlow out of a JOKING MANNER, as in, I inserted a ;lol; smiley after the fact. Some of you are pretty serious.
so because i dont use the smilies in every post i make im serious and im an *******

Am I talking to a brick wall or something? Listen... this is how a conversation between me and Matt ended up a cpl nights ago:
Matt-"I've had it with the NJFBOA guys"
Me - "What for?" *Assumes hes never going to post again*
Matt-"They keep making fun of me"
*Shows me thread*
Me - "Just let it pass you by, sift out the jokes directed at you and continue on"
All Im saying is lay off the kid. He's 14 years old. He asks a stupid question? Give him a proper answer or ignore it. Not that hard. Making fun of him is only going to push a common-interested member out of the site.
so because i dont use the smilies in every post i make im serious and im an *******
I dont know you, but you have come across as a little rough towards the kid. not everyone was born with the gift of being able to pick up on written sarcasm. If you say that all the joking you did at his expense was in good fun and you meant nothing by it, I have no reason to doubt you. I just want you to know that a few times it appeared to me as if you really didnt like the kid.
And in regards to Matt asking questions, I think its great that he asks so many questions. that shows that he has a genuine intrest in learning. If you actually take a step back and look at the situation, we are guiding him. If he catches a lot of flack, then he's gonna become bitter towards certain people. I'm trying to help him along as best I can and would really like it it others did the same. He is young and impressionable, he looks up to some of us and he wants to eventually be just like us as far as car knowledge goes.
I'm not here to tell you what to do, and even if I did try to tell you what to do I wouldn't expect you to listen. I just wanted to let you see things from my point of view.

he should have had the im conversation with the people who were bothering him, it would have silently created a solution to the problem at hand without beinging in third fourth and fifth parties to comment on it
since all these partys dont like my posts, this will be my final post here.
