hey gang,
i was wondering who woudl be interested in getting together as a group to hit the NYC show. i am thinking about trying to go on opening day, friday april 14th.
maybe we cna get a group together and get a better rate on tickets then hit someplace in that area for some eats. the convention center is right on the river and with in walking distance of chelsea pier if anyone wants to do anyting else while we are in the area too.
sound like a plan to anyone?
i will get the break down for group rates and let everyone know.

i think we should hit up public transportation together. those of us this far south could drive over to point pleasant, and those along the route could just join up with us as the train heads north. once we get to NY, everything is either by subway or within walking distance, so we wouldn't have to pay exhorbitant parking rates nor worry about who is going to jack our cars.

just a thought.

if you take the train into grand central i think it is only like 12-14blocks down to the hudson river and the convention center.
we will jsut need a system to all meet up with each other along the way or once in NYC.
the ewing/trenton crew would prolly leave from hamilton station since they have teh best/safest parking around here. :)

I'll take the ferry over and meet you guys, since it's only 20 minutes for me. The ferry drops you off right across the street from the Javits Center. I'll meet up with you guys, I'm off from work that Friday. :) Kasey and Paul, you wanna head down there together?

yeah im up for it, i am also going on that monday i think with my gf and some other people but ill go twice. Yeah the ferry would be the best choice IMO no city driving needed, just need to chekc if theres a decent place to eat in walkign distance, or wait to eat when back in NJ.

chelsea piers is only a few blocks from teh javits center and they have a pretty good restaurant/micro brew place in there as i remember. i think that would be a cool place to grab a bite.
there are a ton of little deli's and small resaurants in the area too.

I'm down, AND what we can do is all park at my house then take as few cars as possible to the ferry, if you guys want to (seeing how I'm the closest member to there). My house is easy to get to from the turnpike, parkway, 80, 4, 17... yea.

Woodbridge train station is a direct line to Grand Central in NY. my house isn't too far away and there are some great diners nearby.

Both NJ Transit North Jersey Coastline and Northeast Corridor lines go into Penn Station, not Grand Central. You'll need to walk (west) down 33rd Street once you come out of the station...it's only about 4 or 5 blocks from Penn Station. Maybe a 10 minute walk. I'd like to go with you guys, but I promised myself 2 years ago that I'd never go on a weekend again.

we taking the camaro?
maybe. i hear theres alot of theft at that parking lot in weehawken and my car is just screaming to get broken into. but the thing is, we're gonna be so in the mood to drive when we get out of there and its gonna be such depression to have to walk back to the saturn

yeah I know, its a tough call. It would be awesome to take the camaro, but if you really feel like its gonna get jacked, the saturn is the way to go. But still, driving back home in the saturn is gonna suck

yea, i know weehawken isnt in the city, i used to go to school in hoboken. id take the ferry over so id park in that lot hopefully, hell i dont care where i park, maybe ill even forget to take the keys with me. That would be bad. lol

*edit* if you havent caught on, i want my truck stolen, lol. oh, even though id never want that to happen cuz that would be horrible. :-)

Savage_Messiah

Really? I've left my car there numerous times... head unit there, radar detector on the dash, subs on the gas tank hump or where the rear seats were, never had a problem  the lot sucks in terms of the spaces not being too big... but I've never personally had a problem.

Like I said... people going to Weehawken can go to my house and leave their car there for the day if you want, and we can pack in for the 10-15 min ride to the ferry. Your car would be safe in suburbia
