the ghosts thread sparked my interest in making this topic, also when i was readin it on saturday or sunday there was all this stuff about aliens. myself i totally believe in them, you'd have to be pretty naive to believe that out of the thousands of planets and galaxies, there arent any living beings on any of them. as for proof there are numerous things that support the existance of them, videos, pictures, sightings. for example how the hell did the summerians build the stuff they did and egyptians build the pyramids? also do u believe that Area 51 aka Groom Lake aka Dreamland is just for top secret testing or do you think that they actually have aliens there??

Bog green headed dudes with huge black eyes? - NO...But i do think there're other life forms out there. It always puzzled me how the all those people assume other life forms would need the same conditions to survive as we do? such as oxygen, water, sun and all that crap. what if they dont? maybe im just weird...

I definitely think there's gotta be something else out there. There could just not be something else out there right this minute, ya know? Each of the other planets in our galaxy and beyond could be in a different stage of its life, whether its just beginning, or nearing the end, there doesnt necessarily have to be life there NOW for there to have to be life there ever. When we think of a life cycle, we think of something MAYBE 100 years, and consider that a long time. In reality, our earth is young in comparison to many of these planets.

These kinds of topics can get me to go on tangents all the time. Now I'm thinking about how our year is set because of our rotation around the sun, any other planets year would not be the same, so how can scientists say how many years ago this happened or that happened on mars or pluto or whatever.

I have believed in them ever since I saw that movie "Fire in the Sky". That movie freaked me out. It was a true story. They did a lie detector on the guys numerous times and all of them just kept passing....even when they took it 10 years later

i believe there are other life forms out in the vast nothingness of space, maybe area 51 has something, but i also believe why would aliens wanna come here? if they can travel light years in seconds, dont they have better places to go? ok so maybe in the 50s they stopped by, left a few bodies, and thats all they cared to see. they got their info and that was it. Its like saying "ok you can go to anywhere in the world", and you want to go see the giant walnut in the middle of the desert... its pointless, im sure there are much better things to see for aliens. thats just my opinion.

I don't know abotu area 51 but I agree completely that there has to be something else out there somewhere.

Paul who says tht whatever other beings are out there even have attained space travel? If so whats to say that they can travel light years in seconds? Who know if they're intellectually superior, inferior, or our equals???

There is way too much out there for it all to be ours.

exactly, i think it its like pluto or something that one of their years equals like 10 of ours.

theres been numerous sightings and alot of it makes sense. i was watchin one of the shows and now theres spaceships that either go into water or burst out of them. pretty wierd. they call them USOs Unidentified Submerged Objects.

i have this game for PS2 called Area 51 (no not the arcade one) its pretty cool, your inside area 51 and and they have all these alien specimen and then they have aliens disecting humans and all this ****. one of the things that made me laugh was in the beginning of one of the levels you get on a elevator and go up and infront of you is the set for a moon landing and the "transmissions" playing in the background. it really makes you think

i try not to think about space that much cuz i feel like my brain will explode...

For once, you're right. think about cave fish and cave frogs. they never see light and live in areas with VERY low oxygen content. An even more basic example would be a virus. damn near indestructable. modern medicine cant kill them and neither can lack of oxygen, light, water, air or even a host. The virus will just sit there for as long as it has to until it gets picked up.

and assuming there is a superior alien race, why wouldnt they pay us a visit? look at our space program, we go to different planets to try and learn as much about it as we can in order to help our own species. Maybe they're doing the same. Or maybe we are their proverbial ant farm. Its such a broad subject with so many variables that its impossible even to postulate an answer.

can anyone answer me why the flag in the video looks like it was starched and ironed 5 million times? the moon has gravity, it should have pulled the flag down at least a little. just more to think about.

i know this will sound far out but on one of those shows one of the guys perposed this: what if the aliens created us? think about it there is no concrete evidence that we were created by god or that we evolved from monkeys (the most logical one) there are only theories. maybe the aliens are comming to "check up on us", as ian said maybe we are like an ant farm to them...

i think the government created area 51 to cover up all the alien stuff that they have collected over the years. think about it, dont you think the world would turn into chaos if one day they announced on the news that aliens have been visiting us for the past 50 or 60 years? people would go nuts!

kasey, i didnt mean it like that, i meant that in regards to people believing aliens visit us all the time and abduct us. i do believe there is definately other life out there, but i dont believe all the sightings and accussed abductions. i said if they CAN visit us and IF they are superior...why would they want to? ok they mayeb dind a few times but the would see they are superior and why bother us. they probably got their info and moved on to a different solar system. i dunno, but in closing, i do believe in aliens, just not here coming here to earth(as often as claimed)

the official awnser is that the flag has a rod inserted into it to make it seem like it is being held up by wind.

Some people need to step outside alittle more often during the day time, and take a deep deep breath of that cold dirty jersey air!

Ah, this makes me think of the only part of "Men in Black" that I felt was more than just entertainment, but a really cool/sophisticated idea... at the very end when they sooz out and our entire galaxy is just a little marble being played with by some huge (by our standards that is) alien... IIRC it may have even been a baby alien.

no no no.....we were inside a locker at the end of MIB 2.

read a little bit of eric von daniken's work to understand what i think about aliens. he doesn't provide answers, he just asks questions - to which there may or may not be an answer that includes extraterrestrial life.

the quote is, "given all of the worlds out there where it would be possible to sustain life as we know it, how naive it is to think that we are the only planet to develop life."

that makes me think of "the planet lies in orion's belt" when orion was the cat and "orions belt" was the cats collar that had a whole galaxy in a little ball
