Just wondering what anyone is planning on donig as far as how many stops or hotel arrangments?
Might be a fair amount from Street Lethal club in PA so it would be cool if we all stayed at the same place.

I was gonna go for the budget long hauler award....staying in my TA overnight.
Anyone who has gone before, any idea from start to end how much it ends up costing?

I plan on driving down to Florida probably the two days before it starts and following the whole tour up. My buddy is probably bringing his 72 Vette too and hopefully him and I are splitting the hotel bill the whole time. I'm also going to look into how much it costs to send the car down on the autotrain...could be cheaper than gas for me. Who else is doing the Long Haul?

I'm planning on just doing the leg from Harrisburg to E-town this year, and long-hauling next year....

i had figured roughly $700-1000, depending on the hotels available and if any deals were to be found. i've heard from several long haulers that basically spent the night in their car and spent as little as $350 - all you have to do is feed yourself and feed the car. $50 per day on just food and gas is pretty tight, if you ask me. there are only so many bologna sammiches one can eat.

How many miles a day do they average?

It varies a lot. some are right around 200, others are closer to 400. See here:

Ian if you want to Long Haul you may be able to hitch a ride with me too. I have to doublecheck but I don't think the gf can go. She'll be recently graduated and starting her new job probably.
I think im gonna long haul, sleeping in my car.
Also I can get at best....140 Miles to a tank. Im sure there are people tho who cant pass a gas station up.

I would be one of those people, but I am not too sure whether I will long haul or not. It will depend alot on the transmission and whether or not its completely shot and if I can get another one in there before the tour. Im a most definite for the Pa-Etown leg though.
that would be preety awesome if a bunch of us from here long hauled it 8)
Paul, if the seat is available, I'll be glad to ride with you.

my thinking exactly. although with the 3.08:1 rear it doesn' suck nearly as bad as it could. i'm still undecided.

Yeah I would do it if my setup wasnt too rough on gas mileage. but right now 9mpg isnt fun. Those 4:10s are fun messing around but not when I have to go a long distance with. When we went to hershey for the show my dad kept on forgetting that his car has 2:73s and I have 4:10s he wanted to cruise at like 85 mph and after about 45 mins of that at an ungodly RPM it gets old for me.
