not with drag radials, no. You're required to have a loop if you break 11.49 or run slicks.

if they give you any lip tell them its 2:4 in general regulations in the book. the very end says:
"Driveshaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 seconds or quicker and utilizing slicks; except vehicles running 11.49 seconds or slower equipped with street tires"

I doubt theyll give you a hard time, but thats where it is.

thanks again, i just didnt want to get there and catch hell and not be allowed to race...that would totally wreck my "race day buzz" :)

they probably wouldnt check anyway, before they new my car, they would ask me how fast i was going, i'd tell them i was hopeing to make a 11 second pass.

If you drive it in, chances are they won't even tech the car. In fact, if you run "no-time" you can get away with more than usual as far as rules go.

when i go there for the gamblers races, tech is IN the staging lanes. As in fill out your name, hand him the paper as you're pulling up to the water.

wow diva i didnt know it was that bad, i know buddies that race there and they tell me about it, thats why ive never ran my car there, id rather go to a track that has more reputable tech and spend 15 min in there and know that everyone is safe going down the strip.

well, like i said, this is for the gamblers races there. ($5k, $10k, whatever to win) I suppose in their eyes, why inspect 2-300 dragsters when most of the racers there know more than the tech inspectors. If your cars not safe by that level, there's a problem. However, I think they should at least do a random inspection just to be sure everyone is legit.

Those are the only days that i've run there, with the exception of one tuesday, so I don't know what tech is like on their regular days. I don't remember if I had to get inspected or not on the tuesday.

The tech at Atco is pretty much a joke. Granted the only car I have ever raced there is the Lumina, but they still don't check anything. The one time I raced at Island the tech inspector popped my hood and trunk to make sure everything was ok.
