Contrary to rumors, however, Lutz said General Motors is not planning to revive the Pontiac Firebird. “No, that’s not something we are planning. We are not going to do that car,” he said.

What gets me is that he says it was his fault for letting the rumors go this far. Well why didn't he just say the GTO was going to be back in 2008 from the start? Could have made it a lot easier.

He said the reason they "cancelled" it was so people would stop working on it. he said that if he announced it as pushed to the side, people would still work on it and he didnt want that.
Sounds like its gonna be a hell of a car! and you know what that means....when they come out, the price of 05 and 06 goats are gonna DROP!

Prices are pretty low as it is right now. I am deffinatly thinking of picking up an 05 GTO after the Maxx's lease is up. It will be a little segway into the Camaro.

Sounds like a good plan. I've already seen the '05 prices drop like a hooker's panties.

You weren't looking hard enough then. My friend (96ImpSS here) bought his a few years ago, bone stock with just under 30k on the clock for under $20k.
