12th Annual Cops & Rodders Car Show-North Brunswick NJ
This year the Batmobile will be on display
Last year we had alot F-Bodys participate in the caravan into the Cops and Rodders Car show, and had over 50 F-Bodys in the Show, and a total of over 350 cars show up in bad weather-!
In 2003 & 2004 we had over 600 cars total in the show
Pictures from 2003 and 2004 (http://community.webshots.com/user/tangotwo)
All F-Bodys meet at the Sears parking lot at 7:30am on April 30th.
We will meet up there, then head over to the show as a group.
The Sears is located on Route One southbound, just south of Route 18.
EMail me at NBP555@AOL.com and I will EMail you back a Registration form.
The North Brunswick NJ Police Dept Death, Retirement, Widows & Orphans Fund will be holding our 12th Annual Cops and Rodders Car Show on Sunday, April 30th 2004.
Last year we had over 350 cars at the show, and is growing each year.
It will be held at the DeVry University on Route One northbound, mid way between Route 130 and Route 18 on April 30th, with a rain date of May 7th.
All Pre-registered Vehicles are guaranteed a Plaque.
Pre-registration is $15.00, and must be received by April 21st .
On site registration is $18.00 the day of the event
Anyone wishing a Registration form or has any questions can EMail me at NBP555@AOL.com, and I will send it out.
Most of the Information is on the Registration Form, but I'll give you some highlights here.
This is the 12th year of the show. Our 1st year we had 88 cars show, and it has been building every year. Last year we had well over 350 cars show in bad weather, making us one of the BIGGEST shows around for what we are. We usually draw over 600 cars to the event.
All kinds of cars show up, both old and newer. Everyone likes the mix of cars that show up, and that it is early in the year, where people are itching to the their rides outta the garage.
There is no "official" judging of cars. We give out trophys, but regular people give them out to the cars they like.
If your group would like to give out trophys amongst your club, you can do that. You can bring your own, or buy Trophy(s) from us to give out your group. The cost of a Trophy from us is $150. Where we make the money for the fund is from Trophy sales, food, shirts. Clubs in the past have collected money from it's members, and bought the trophy(s) from us to give as they wished amongst their club. If you'd like to buy trophy, let me know.
Admission for spectators is free.
Registration fee is $15 per car if you Pre-Register before April 21st.
Registration fee is $18 at the gate the day of the show.
ALL Pre-Registered cars will receive a Plaque.
Also the day of the show, as you enter, we take a picture of you in your car, and we put it in a Plaque that you can purchase if you like.
We also sell food and shirts at the show.
The date of the show is April 30th, with a rain date of May 7th.
It starts at 9am, and ends at 2pm. Try to show up before 9am, as it takes time to get over 600 cars into the show.
It is held at the DeVry University, which is on Route One northbound in North Brunswick, midway between Route 130, and Route 18.
Anything else you need, let me know at NBP555@AOL.com
I am coordinating the F-Bodys for the show, so go through me for any questions you may have.
Hopefully I will beable to Attend this year

What usually goes on in this show?
All F-Bodies meet at the Sears parking lot in New Bruswick around 7:00- 7:30am., West bound where Rt 18 crosses over Rt#1, there is "On The Border" and Houllihan's out front.
We head to the show about 8ish, when the NBPD give us the escourt in ( about 1 mile away ). Then like any other meet, we all talk cars, oh, and bust everyone’s butt.
The show normally draws a real diverse bunch of cars, full race, full show, street machines, antiques, classics, stock, mods, Lamborghini’s.
The people of the NBPD are a class act, they treat the F-body crew well and it is a great cause. No need to worry about bringing food or going out. The NBPD server breakfast and lunch ect. at reasonable cost to help raise money for their cause.
Show ends around 2ish afer the awards are given out.

Direction to the Sears/On-The-Border Lot:
It is located on Route 1 southbound, just south of Route 18 interchange.
From the NJ Turnpike:
Get off at Exit #9.
Once you go through the Tollbooth, keep right, onto to Route 18 north.
Once on Route 18, get over to the left, (following signs for Route 1 south), bear left around the curve, then get over to the right once on the bridge and take the ramp on the right to Route One south.
Once on Route One south, the Sears/On-The-Border Restaurant is right there on the right, right at the end of the ramp. We meet up in front of the SEARS Auto Center.
If for some reason your running real late or anything and miss us, if you keep heading south on Route 1, the Car Show will be down on the left about 1 mile past the Sears.

Hey guys,
I was the guy behind the scenes that got us involved in this car show about 7 years ago. I've been going for about 9 years now. As some of you know, I traded my Z for the car pictured it's a 1970 Cutlass SX (it's more rare than a 442, and some of the older guys could probably verified that for me). The car has a 455 V8 4bbl carb, 3.23 posi, and lots of other things I can show you guys at the show. I hope that's okay if I meet up with all of you at Sears even though it's an A-body? Let me know. I look forward to seeing everyone at the show.
Sincerely,
Dan Maldonado

Jeff,
So, what do you think of my trade? I've always wanted a '70 Olds, so I was able to part with the '97 30thZ28. What vehicle are you planning on bringing there? I look forward to seeing you, it's been ages!
Sincerely,
Dan Maldonado

Looks like a sweet ride Dan. The 70 Cutlass SX is a very limited production option so it should hold it's value pretty good. My brother's friend had a 70 Cutlass SX convertible in high school. It was an old race car with a dual gate shifter. That car was scary fast even loaded with people. He blew up the motor and eventually they sold the car to a collector in Japan! My 69 still isn't done so I'll be bringing my 96 SS.

Rich,
Yeah I've wanted the car since I was like 12, so it's truly a blessing to have a car like that while I'm relatively young. I'm looking forward to seeing all the other sweet cars that will be there. Thanks for the comment, it's greatly appreciated!

Yea jeff, you know the first thing i noticed was that some idiot drilled holes in those fenders for the Z/28 emblems. what kind of person would do that to that car? 100k isnt worth it,im guessing about 70k not wanting to hijack a thread so I will see all at sears sunday morning.

Is it the one from the Adam West Batman show or the batmobile from Batman (Michael Keaton), or Batman Forever( Val Kilmer) or Batman And Robin? I am crossing my fingers that its the one from the 1989 Batman film with Keaton.
dan30thz28
04-29-2006, 08:48 AM
Hey,
It's the batomobile from the 60's show. Well, at least that's what they had pictured on the flyer. It's still a neat car though. See you all there!
Pampered-Z
04-29-2006, 10:37 AM
It's the original Batmoble from the 60s. Someone in the Hamilton area now once it. Been years since I've seen it. I've heard he use to drive it around with the full batman costume on!

Looks like a good turnout. Sorry I could stay & shoot the breeze, but my 5 year old was being a total PTA today. But the Batmobile was very cool. :)
I liked the off road group as couple rows over, POS performance. "If it ain't broke, it ain't ours." "Honk if a part falls off". Classic. I liked those trucks, obvisouly real off roaders, compared to the hummer at the end of the row, with the crome, lift & off road junk bolted on, w/o a speck of dust (ie never even seen a dirt driveway), but with his trophies.
Speaking of stupid trophies, so there are a whole row of new GTOs, and at the end is one with like 4 trophies in front of it. WTF is the deal with that? It was no better than other ones in the row (in fact I liked other ones better), but he had his trophies. Leave the frigging things home. That's a huge pet peeve of mine.
JL8Jeff
05-01-2006, 07:48 AM
Yeah, I never could figure out why people bring trophy's from other car shows to a car show.
bad64chevelle
05-01-2006, 12:32 PM
that same dude thought i was looking at his car when in fact i was throwing out my soda bottle in the garbage can right next to it, and went on and on about how his GTO was the best one there and was fast and what not. He was a total prick.
SSport
05-01-2006, 01:18 PM
Yea we know the GTO guy...his name is Bruce and he is bit of a tool but he does have one of the few GTO's in this area which run 11's. It doesn't look like much special but he has a good amount of work done to it.
