Hey yall, my name is Mike and I'm being stationed at Ft. Dix in June. Right now I'm in N.C. and it looks like you folks have a much bigger hot rod scene. Hope to hook up with some of you all! Thanks to qwikz28 from LS1Tech for directing me here :-D

No, between deployments and my car being down I've never ran there. It is a nice track.

Where is a good area to look for a place to live? I was searching on the net and maybe Burlington and that area? Yalls real estate prices are horrifying, btw. Absolutely horrifying.

Good think you are looking farther south. Anything north of Monmouth county, and you better be pulling in at least 6 figures to afford an out house. NJ is getting crazy with the prices. I dont understand what makes NJ so popular? Its a good state, but people are flooding this state.

Yeah, it's insane up there. Down here you can get a new 3 bedroom 2 car garage house for 200K easy. My standard of living is going to go down big time  I was pretty bummed when I found out I was having to move to N.J., never even seen enough snow to ski in and the army boned me by denying my retirement at the end of the year to send me to Dix, but hot rods are my life and it seems I'll have alot of buds. Never thought 20 people would even reply to my post :-D

You are definitly not alone when it comes to having a passion for cars. Plus this is a pretty tight-knit group of people. when you make it up here, be sure to head out to some of the meets :)

Welcome! We're glad to have you. You think the real estate is pricey....wait 'til you get a load of the taxes. NJ govt. is a modern form of "taxation without representation". Sure we have an elected govt., but from top to bottom, they all have their own personal agenda and could care less about the people that put them there. Aside from the high costs and corrupt govt., NJ really is a nice place.

First let me offer condolences for being sent here to NJ. And second, most of the guys on here are bored out of their mind so they keep posting meaningless dribble when they should be working on their cars! But welcome anyway!

I know. We were in different crowds, I hung with the gearheads and he hung with the "freaks", but we would all party together every now and then out at the lake. It was pretty clear by the 9th grade that he would be a star, especially since his dad was a music producer or something. He was a very down to earth kid, cool to everyone. Same with his brother Vinnie.
