Anyone know about this club? Ran into a few VW punks over a year ago during a VW / Audi aftermarket convension in New Brunswick. Talk about a bunch of ********. Now I dont know if any of the VW folks belong to the club above - I ran into the name when searching for the Somerville Cruise Night dates - but the name brought back some negative memories. A few of the VW folks got arrested for assaulting a girl in an elevator. I think just about every NB cop showed up that night. Kinda pretty seeing all those red and blue flashing lights outside the lobby of the Hilton.

While ricers may get the shaft end of our jokes, I hold a special place in my heart for those backwards-tennis-cap wearing, 105pounds-soaking-wet, punks.

Two of my close friends are VeeDub freaks, but their not like that in the least bit. Thats just ****in' retarted, assulting a chick... I guess it goes with out saying.. a few can ruin it for all.

The webpage you have posted is for old skool veedubs though. They got a 72 mini bus for $750 for sale in their classifieds :D

what is teh deal with the whole air cooled vs water cooled thing?
i never never seen or heard of two groups of people who own the same brand so divided over something. most of the big meets are even held seperately.

tim- thats not the thing... its just that both groups consider their cars so different from each other they group it seperately. its like modern vs old school. modern VWs are more performace oriented and the air cooled are restored show cars so to speak. i had the pleasure of driving a modified VW yesterday and i was very impressed with it to be honest. it was very responsive and handled great but it just didnt have the sports car feel i enjoy in my own car. it does make a nice blend of sport/comfort though...

any more info on that girl that got assaulted? my buddy goes to all those brunswick meets and he never even heard about it

Not much more beyond what I mentioned. Happened two years ago, combo VW and Audi aftermarket show at the Hilton in New Brunswick. Met a few of the VW guys in the bar after the cops hauled the assaulters away (I have to admit, a few of us were looking for trouble). They were cool about it and didn't have anything to do with the assault. But the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't know the girl, her name escapes me now.

Seems like all the VW guys looked the same - barely over a 100 pounds wet, baggy clothing, and those tennis hats on sideways. The four guys I was with were all well over 200 pounds, one of whom knew the girl personally. We were just there hanging out, got a room, crashed the bar, etc. I think some other convention (comic books or something) was going on at the same time in the ballrooms. The hotel was packed.

I probably shouldn't lump them all together. A few ********, nothing more.

Every brand's fans have their share of ********... however I don't see Tsar or j0n assaulting a chick..... well, in the manner described above.... ummm yea.
