Its not a true GTO unless it has IRS and 6spd manual.

Haha, I personally love the new goats myself. They will blow any old stock GTO away. But I have dreamed of a '67 since I rode in one in the mid 80's. May have to do some business at Black Tie when I get up there.

Black Tie Classics is brutally overpriced and a lot of their cars are amateur restorations. Take about $10-15K off their prices and then the cars might be worth thinking about. I've seen several cars that they grabbed for consignment and jacked the price up $10K immediately. Then they can't sell them and return them to the owner. It's probably a cool place to cruise by and look at stuff just to see the cars though.

Right, let's compare an imported, bland car that gets laughed at by it's competition(3 series BMW etc) to classic American Muscle.

What's next? The only REAL Fbody is an Iron Duke?

Yeah, it would probably be stupid to buy a car from them, but damn, I will have to check out a place with 31 old GTO's for sure.

Never been to Black Tie because it's kinda far from where I am. But there's a place in Wayne on 23 called Muscle Car Garage. Only been there once, so can't say how long stuff sits around. But the time I went they had some nice cars.

There is a place on 88 in Lakewood aka Dealer Row, called Future Classics. Talk about overpriced. They had a LT1 Camaro with LT4 engine mods, B&B exhaust, 8 or 10 pt cage, and a lot of BMR suspension upgrades, and had it listed for 23k.
Not to mention some of the messy restorations. There is a 69 SS Camaro there, and one of the S's look like it slid down the fender, and then the glue dried...kinda looked like this....

..S < also on a slight angle....

Horrible.

Golden Classics became Future Classics, LLC. Notice that all these classic car dealers are LLC's. That's so you can't sue them for a misrepresented car which most of them sell. They play dumb and tell you that the previous owner said it was a real Z28 with the original engine. Some of them do get legit, #'s matching musclecars once in a while, but the price will make that obvious.

those dealers and the scams they run are a waste of life. The world would be much better if they just offed themselves right now. I remember going to one last year to look at a 64 "SS" Chevelle that they had. It was the normal "numbers matching" cars they have. The guy continued to talk to me like I was the normal idiot that they get in there to buy cars and tell me the car came from the factory with the TH400 that was in the car. Not to mention the 350 that it had. When I checked the numbers on the vin tag and told him that he was false advertising it as a true ss and not a regular malibu he quickly tried to make me leave before I made a scene. Needless to say the car was about a number 3 driver and had the price tag of a number 1 SS. One of the other salesmen had the balls to ask me how I knew that it was a fake SS. I simply pointed to my true SS (NOM) convertible sitting outfront of the place and they shut up real fast.

you know what they say about a fool and his money... goes double for a fool who doesn't do any research before buying a classic car. i studied up for almost three years before i bought mine, then only bought a coupe 'driver'. it's all i could really rationalize spending. sure, i'd love to have an original z/28, but with the color of my car i get all eyes on me anyway. people really don't know the difference.

and i love the ricers who pulled up next to me in the wendy's drive-thru, with my four year old niece in the car, to ask me "does that thing have a hemi?" she knew more about cars than the four of them combined...
